Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander and Kennedy.
Hi Alexander and Kennedy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
We became interested in film and photo when we first started dating in 2017. We were documenting all of our travels across the Southwest and West Coast for our own memories. From adventures through Portland to morning hikes in Zion National Park to travels up the Pacific Coast Highway, we loved documenting the beauty that surrounded us. We were living in Southern Utah and Kennedy was just wrapping up her schooling so we decided that it was time to go back to Dallas.
Once we moved to Dallas, we saw the opportunity to really turn our passion into a career. There were wedding venues everywhere and such a need wedding videographers. We decided to open ourselves up to the wedding industry. You know what they say… everything is bigger in Texas… weddings are no exception. We instantly fell in love with everything about the wedding industry. We loved connecting and capturing people’s raw love stories.
We originally started out as AK Videography. We specialized in videography only. After many requests, we became AK Film + Photo to offer a film + photo duo package. This utilized both of our strengths. It also offered our clients a couple team that so many of them were searching for.
From there, we truly watched our dreams SOAR. We get to work with dream clients, travel the country, and capture true love.
It truly doesn’t get any better than that.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anyone that has started a business can relate to the rocky road of entrepreneurship. There are so many aspects to running a business. For us, one of the biggest challenges for us to learn has been balance. A lot of times we find that we are working endless hours with our couples on planning and executing their day. We wouldn’t trade it for anything, but it is a huge workload and responsibility to take on. Choosing certain hours to work and staying true to that has been a game-changer for us.
We were blessed with amazing clientele that truly trusted us- we don’t take that lightly. We have learned so much in our trade over the years and continue to learn more! Asking other professionals and not being afraid to simply get out there and shoot! When you take a passion, it can be hard to imagine turning it into a full-time career- let alone a full-time career for two people. There truly hasn’t been anything like growing AK Film + Photo and it blessing us with the lifestyle we always dreamed of.
Staying up to date on everything social media-wise has been a challenge, but we are continuing to show up in a genuine way that feels true to ourselves and our brand. We love connecting with others on that space and giving them some behind the scenes and insight of what it is like being a destination wedding film + photo team.
There never was a “promise” of how it could turn out.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are a Couple Film + Photo Wedding Team. We specialize in destination film and photography.
We travel all around the Dallas Metroplex as well as areas such as Washington, Utah, etc. We both love the outdoors so you will see that we draw from natural elements in our work.
What sets us apart is our ability to connect with our couples and capture them in their own unique way. We always love a beautiful classic wedding portrait. However, we love to truly get a feel for each of our clients and find those moments that truly represent the love that they share.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
We define success through finding true pleasure, connection, and accomplishment while making an honest living.
