Meet Alexander Beaverhausen of Haus of DFW

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Beaverhausen.

Alexander, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I was inspired by Steven Meisel and his photographs that was on the cover of Vogue in May 2009. It was a considered an “Artistic Critique”. Investing more time into books and magazines, I learned what art can mean to many people. That’s something I inspire to do with my work. I want to give people the ability to actually look at my work and criticize it and compare it to another artist.

To give them the ability to actually take the time and invest into what art really is and try to figure out what kind of concept I am aiming for as well as to my artistic decisions.

I didn’t start with some of the best gear but that didn’t stop me from creating and taking pictures. I thank my family and friends who have supported me & my creative ideas.

I also want to thank the DFW community being the models & photographers who I have met along the way you have helped me grow into the photographer and creative I am today.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely a struggle!

Not everyone will have the same concept. Collaborating with photographers, stylist, makeup artist, models is a tad bit more complicated than others imagine.

You have to make sure everyone is comfortable and looking for the same concept. I have had issues before where I have to end the session due to artistic differences.

As a photographer I have to understand not everyone will like my editing and coloring on the photos. I have learned to be flexible with my photography by creating a social connection with the model. It’s all about understanding.

Haus of DFW – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in photography. My company is currently look to expand and support local businesses as well as to artist, musicians, etc. Always open to collaborating for new ideas.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Getting recognition by people who have worked at Condé Nast, Vanity Fair, Elle.
