Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Perez and Nancy Del Bosque.
Alexander and Nancy, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I bought my first camera kit several years ago to document my travel and my band at the time. Once I discovered how much better my pictures came out in manual mode, I began learning more about how it works and photography became my new creative outlet. I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by really talented people throughout my life and they have been my source of influence and inspiration.
I met Nancy about four years ago while I was doing photography for a local band. We discovered that we had a lot in common, one of them being our interest in the arts. Every time we would pass an empty business building for lease, we would always ask each other what we would do with it. This led to brainstorming different creative businesses we could start together. Photography was a hobby Nancy and I had a mutual passion for. As I started posting more of my pictures on Instagram, friends and family began requesting photoshoots. When we felt comfortable enough with our skills, Nancy and I partnered up and started Society Image Media.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One obstacle is finding time for a photography business while trying to balance full time jobs, relationships and other responsibilities that we are committed to. Being involved in the local music scene and heavily involved in a church can be time consuming, and though we wouldn’t change a thing, it can add pressure when trying to complete tasks. I have a Type A personality and this helps to manage my time wisely. Nothing feels better than checking things off my daily to-do list. Another obstacle was learning the business end of the company. Having friends in the industry is something we appreciate even still. We get by with a little help from our friends and good ole’ YouTube University.
Please tell us about your work.
We are two photographers based out of Dallas, TX. Who has a passion for bringing ideas to life and a talent for visual problem-solving. If you are looking for a team to help with all aspects of visualizing your brand or just bringing your ideas to life, that is what we specialize in. We don’t limit ourselves to only one genre of photography. We also offer Social Media Content Creation. Our consistency throughout each genre makes us a one stop shop. Society Image Media has the vision to bring our society together by highlighting and inspiring creative businesses and artists in our community.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is playing in a flamenco band and touring Mexico.
