Hi Alice, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey began with a focus on earning my master’s degree in political economy and pursuing a career as a diplomat, studying and volunteering abroad in multiple countries. Along the way, I discovered a passion for modeling. However, witnessing the toxic body standards and being reduced to just looks in the industry spurred me to make a difference. Having always seen myself as more than just a pretty face, I wanted to create an agency that represents talent with diverse backgrounds, passions, education, and societal concerns. Seven years ago, I founded my agency in Dallas, aiming to redefine beauty standards by representing models who are not only classy and sophisticated but also care deeply about society as a whole. Today, our agency is a reflection of that vision. We are all about models who bring more to the table than just good looks. They’re highly educated and multilingual, adding depth and sophistication to everything from fashion shows to corporate events. It’s a celebration of dedication and diversity that defines us.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In my journey as an entrepreneur, I have faced various challenges that have taught me important lessons along the way.
Early on, I realized that success is not always a straight path. There are ups and downs, and learning to adapt to these changes became crucial.
Rejection was another obstacle I encountered frequently. But instead of seeing it as a setback, I learned to view it as an opportunity for growth.
Building and managing a team also presented its challenges. Communication and understanding became key in creating a positive work environment.
Accepting that not everyone will support my vision was a freeing realization. It allowed me to focus on those who did and to stay true to myself.
Overall, I have learned to be my own biggest supporter, celebrating my achievements and staying resilient in the face of challenges.
