Founding Story:
Align Health Careers was founded in 2022 by two experienced nurses, Cinchona King and Yokoe Atkinson, who first met and worked together at Methodist Hospital. With over 14 years each combined experience in the healthcare field, we share a deep commitment to shaping the future of healthcare by helping individuals of all ages find fulfilling and flexible careers.
Cinchona King’s Journey:
Cinchona’s journey in healthcare began in high school when she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification while still in school. From there, she continued to build her skills by becoming a Phlebotomist and EKG Technician while working in a hospital in New Orleans. Cinchona then pursued her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) education and has recently achieved her Registered Nurse (RN) degree. Her journey reflects her passion for continuous learning and dedication to providing exceptional patient care.
Yokoe Atkinson’s Journey:
Yokoe also began her healthcare career in high school as a CNA, working for 14 years in a healthcare facility. After that, she returned to trade school to become an LVN, and is currently working towards her associate degree, with plans to complete her RN degree. Yokoe is a firm believer that it’s never too late to pursue your goals, and she is passionate about helping others navigate their career journeys in healthcare.
Our Vision:
Cinchona and Yokoe share a vision for helping both young adults and those seeking career changes. For younger individuals unsure of their future path, we believe that attending a secondary school opens doors to explore different career options, especially in the healthcare field. For those looking to make a career change, our flexible programs can align students with roles that offer opportunities for personal growth, competitive pay, and travel.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While our journey at Align Health Careers has been rewarding, it has not been without its challenges. Like many businesses, we’ve faced obstacles as we’ve worked to grow and expand.
One of our primary challenges has been reaching a broader customer base. With limited distribution channels, we’ve struggled to connect with a wider audience who could benefit from our programs. To overcome this, we are actively seeking partnerships with local schools, non-profits, and healthcare organizations. These partnerships will help us extend our reach and introduce our services to more individuals looking to advance their careers in healthcare.
Another hurdle has been the need for a stronger online presence. With increasing competition and more people turning to the internet for education and training options, we’ve realized that optimizing our digital strategy is essential. By investing in online marketing strategies, including social media campaigns and search engine optimization (SEO), we aim to attract more students and raise awareness about the opportunities we offer.
Despite these challenges, we are committed to finding innovative solutions and continuously improving our outreach efforts to help more individuals start or advance their healthcare careers.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Cinchona King
Growing up, I was surrounded by healthcare professionals, which deeply influenced my path. I had the privilege of watching both of my aunts, who are nurses, get dressed for work every day. Their passion and love for what they did were evident, and that’s when I knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps. My grandmothers were also both CNAs, so healthcare has always been a part of my life. Witnessing their dedication to helping others planted the seed for my own journey, and I’ve been passionate about nursing ever since.
Yokoe Atkinson
Like Cinchona, I grew up in a family with a strong presence in the healthcare field. My mother, sister, and aunt all attended trade school in Belton County to earn their CNA certifications. My sister and aunt worked together at a nursing home and a hospital in Austin, Texas—my aunt still works there today, with over 25 years of experience. My sister later pursued a career as a surgical technician. From a young age, I was inspired to follow in their footsteps and pursue a career in healthcare. It was instilled in me to either become a nurse or work in the medical field, and I’ve carried that inspiration with me throughout my journey.

MTW 6-9 Hybrid) IV Therapy & PBT Seminar $350 (One day 3.5 hours) CPR Instructor $385 CPR, Heart-Saver and First aid range from $60-$100 per person
