Hi Alison and Heather, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My business partner and I have known each other for 12 years. After each of us stepped away from our full-time jobs for a period of time to raise kids, about three years ago, we started feeling the tug to get back into the world of work. Heather’s husband is well-versed in the energy industry, and my husband is well-versed in technology. Together, we started a business leveraging on family knowledge. We spent about the first year learning the electricity and natural gas market, and over time, we continued to grow with more and more customers in and outside of Texas.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While the road has been fairly smooth, it certainly was slow at first. Heather and I had a big learning curve. What was a blessing for us was actually covid. When the world slowed, we were able to take that time to really engross ourselves into learning as much as we possibly could about electricity, natural gas, and the ebbs and flows of the market.
