Meet Alison Foreman of Alison Aberdeen in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Foreman.

Alison, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Pretty soon after having my first child, I became a self-taught photographer. I was in search of a creative outlet and more of a purpose than ‘mom’ and ‘wife’, so I started my own business and never looked back.

In the last year, I started daydreaming about blogging, which is something I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do and have always been encouraged to do by my loved ones. So in January, as my New Year’s Resolution, I did just that. I started a lifestyle blog, focusing mostly on fashion and beauty and mommin’, with a side of snark to match my personality.

Personally, the growth I’ve experienced as a result of this new path has been invaluable. I feel more confident and myself than I ever have. However, my end goal is to empower other women – to let them know it’s ok to have a bad day, to skip a week at the gym. And it’s also ok to love the skin you’re in and to glam it up for no reason at all. DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY LADIES.

I’m SO grateful for the people who appreciate my blog and watch me on Instagram because without them, I wouldn’t have the courage each day to wake up and put myself out there. You guys ROCK.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. I’ve had days where I am definitely not feeling myself and doubt that anyone wants to hear what I have to say. I am definitely my biggest critic and tend to be extremely hard on myself. Meeting my own expectations can be impossible at times.

Alison Aberdeen – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I started my business solely as a photography business until this past year, when I decided to become a full-time lifestyle blogger. I think what I am most proud of is that I’m genuine and authentic – I’m staying true to myself no matter what. And I’d say what sets me apart from others is that I have my own style, my own voice, and I’ll always be brutally honest with my audience.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Aside from this honor of being featured in Voyage Dallas, I am most proud that I’ve shown my children that you can follow your dreams and make them a reality. That my daughter will always know that GIRLS CAN.
