Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Wagner.
Hi Alison, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Fort Worth Photo Booth Company nearly three years ago. With my kids grown and after more than a decade in federal government work, I realized I wanted something more, something I could call my own. I spent several months exploring different business opportunities, and ultimately, a photo booth business felt like the perfect fit: creative, people-focused, and full of potential.
For most of the past three years, I balanced running my business alongside my full-time job. But just one month ago, I made the leap to go all in on Fort Worth Photo Booth Company. I’ve seen steady growth each year, and I knew that dedicating myself fully would allow the business to reach its next level. Taking that step has been both exciting and empowering, and I’m thrilled to see what comes next.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can’t say it’s been a smooth road. I entered an industry I knew very little about, with no professional contacts, essentially going in blind. I had to learn not just the technical side of running a photo booth, but also how to build a business around it. I spent months honing my craft and perfecting the images my booth could produce before I felt ready to take on clients.
One of my biggest challenges was marketing the business. As a true introvert, traditional networking events were never my style, so I had to find creative ways to reach clients without stepping too far out of my comfort zone.
The first year was slow, but persistence paid off. In my second year, I more than doubled my revenue and added a second booth. Today, I operate four booths and have built a strong base of repeat clients: a testament to my continued learning, experimenting, and staying committed even when the road wasn’t easy.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I preferred to be by myself instead of in big groups. In college, I would drop any class that had an oral presentation on the syllabus. If I have to talk to people a lot during the day, I need alone time to recharge.
Some of these things used to bother me because I thought that there must be something wrong with me if I didn’t want to hang out with lots of people.
The truth is, I prefer one on one interactions. I’ll never enjoy being the center of attention in large groups. And I will never enjoy public speaking. And all of this is ok. It’s who I am and I’ve been able to embrace these traits and use them to my advantage.
Some might assume that being an introvert in an industry centered around social events would be a challenge, but I’ve found the opposite to be true. My introverted traits allow me to build deeper, more meaningful relationships with my clients. I can quietly observe and listen, focusing on creating the best possible experience for them, and then step back to watch as everything comes together beautifully.
