Meet Alissa Anderson of BET Networks & an Investor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alissa Anderson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Being raised by a single mother, I had no choice but to learn how to be independent and knowledgeable in all aspects of business. She instilled in me that hard work will always open the doors that need to be opened. Therefore, I started thinking bigger. I worked in courthouses at the age of 14 years old, shadowing attorneys, was nominated for the Law & CSI forum in DC, participated in Mock Trial, and went to college in New York City to pursue a degree in Legal Studies. Shortly after graduation, this gave me the opportunity to become employed at my current job, ViacomCBS, working with the subsidiary companies such as: MTV, BET, VH1, Logo, Nickelodeon, and CMT in the Business & Legal Affairs department.

I never imagined working for my favorite TV channels! The experience is amazing. Being surrounded by people who have the same career interests as me motivates me to move with more aggression. It wasn’t till I started solely focusing on BET that we moved to work remotely due to the pandemic. I missed the in-office experience, but it gave me the push to learn more while being in the comfort of my home. Many people lost their jobs, finances became unstable, so I had to think to myself, what can I do to give back? I started to learn the importance of investing and now educate people on how to make money from their cell phones. It’s actually interesting because numbers were never my thing, but as soon as the profits started coming in and taking care of my other expenses and future plans, I made it my thing! Everything is built off numbers and it took me some time to realize that, but I am thankful to now have two sources of income and can show others how to do the same.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Since all of my career endeavors involve working with people, the biggest struggle overall was understanding the psychology of people, their behaviors and personalities. I had to come to the realization that just because some may not think how I do, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re wrong. That is key when it comes to communication. We live in a world where people come from different backgrounds and experiences, so I have to be able to understand and work with multiple traits in order to move successfully in my business.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Trade With Pippin is an investment group I started around June 2020. It consisted of 75 young entrepreneurs learning how to invest in the stock market, the foreign exchange market, cryptocurrencies, commodities, and energies. It has now grown into over 200+ individuals with no age limitation insight. You are your own boss and can control how much you make and the time in which you want to make it. In the market, the amount of money is based on the number of pips (points in percentages) it moves, which generated the investment name.

I am proud to say we have individuals who have paid off their student loan debt, mortgages, car insurance, been able to fund trips for themselves, and more. Upon signing up, we will discuss your goals and break down by the month, week, and day, how much you need to make in order to achieve those goals. My world tour will be starting next month, where I will be traveling to different locations to share the knowledge. You will never have to wait for someone to tell you when or how much you’re going to get paid! To be under the age of 25 and already understanding finances is a big deal. Society makes it seems as though we won’t really get into it until we’re older, but I am blessed to be steps ahead of the norm.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was very ambitious. Nothing was ever too big or too small for me to feel like I couldn’t participate. Dabbling my hands into multiple ventures like cheerleading, basketball, dance, gymnastics, the mock trial team, you name it, I was in it. However, the main interest that stuck with me was law. I found myself glued to the TV screen watching Law & Order to try and solve the case before Olivia does. The feeling of giving my opinion without receiving backlash was appealing to me. I always had so much to say, and being in both the legal and financial fields has given me the opportunity to do so.
