Today we’d like to introduce you to Aliya Fraser
Hi Aliya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Overtime you learn to find beauty and appreciation for every stage during your journey because it shapes you into the person you are today. From the ages of early childhood to adolescent. Art has always been my favorite class where I could tune out the world and safely express myself without the fear of being judged. In my teen years, I struggled with depression and negative thoughts slowly pushing myself away from God. The start of my spiritual journey in my late teens was very rocky, but through my intuition art became my biggest coping skill to survive and channel my energy with messages from the universe.
In 2020 I decided to take it more seriously, so started my art business and made up my first website. Where I started making handmade crafts, shirts, mask, jewelry, and art to sell. I had a name for my brand then but I wasn’t very confident in the choice. Eventually in 2024, a name came to me so I trademarked it and officially was proud to announce my brand as GODLEE GOODIES. The homophone Godly-Godlee I came up with because as a little kid, my nickname was Lee Lee. Lee meaning meadow that represents fertility, growth and the concept of openness. So the name means Gods meadow of goodies. By growing my faith in the past few years it has given me purpose and a calling I feel guided to accomplish. God wouldn’t plant a dream in your heart if you were not capable of achieving it. So I want to dedicate my life to God by using my god given talents that he blessed me with to inspire grow and help others around me through my work.
The year 2025 has been awesome so far, officially rebranding and re-launching my website making sales with satisfied customers. Godlee Goodies is a vibrant brand dedicated to offering a creative haven catering to artistic souls. Filled with products that help with reprogramming the subconscious mind with positive affirmations and images. Perfect for those who love art, mental health, invest in self development and have an eccentric taste in style. I ensure that customers find something special that resonates with their individuality
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There has been many struggles along the road. Struggles to finish college, the absence of a mother figure, homelessness, depression, relying on subsistences to cope and unplanned pregnancy.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create original handcrafted art on canvas and paper. My two favorite mediums are acrylic paint, watercolor and color pencil. I’m a jack of all trades when it comes to anything artistic with crafts or projects I do. Im most proud of the art that I have made since 2023 and how others value my work by finding true meaning that resonates with them. Now I’m very proud how my brand has developed products with the affirmations for each collection that fit so well because my art has true meaning that’s relatable. I would say I am most recognized for my use of vibrant colors in an abstract way no one has ever seen or compared me to. Also the canvas work I do is very textured and amazing to look at in person. What truly sets me apart is my process of creating, by getting downloads from the universe and using intuition to guide my eccentric style. Showcasing pieces that are abstractly related to the universe and nature. Yet you can tell what it is, but it’s the factor that makes you look even deeper at it and a little longer at details.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice is don’t be afraid of failure. Failure is holy proof that you were trying. Definitely trust in divine timing and by keeping God in your life, you will not fail. Everything will come to you when you’re ready. So keep perfecting your craft, networking and spreading the word about what you do because one day it will fall into the right ears and hands.
