Meet Alyson Trempe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyson Trempe.

Hi Alyson, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Maine. I didn’t embrace the art or passion of my career until after my first son was born in 2014. I wanted to be able to spend more time with him but also have income. It was then that I found new respect and love for being a cosmetologist. In 2017 we took a trip to Dallas, instantly fell in love, and decided one day we’d make it our home. Over the last 5 years, I worked on my career as a hairstylist. My first passion was balayage and color; I’m very proud of the reputation and clientele I built in Maine. In 2019 I became the first stylist in the state to offer hand tied/sew-in hair extensions. It was a leap of faith, but we are so blessed that this is where my career took me. I can personally attest to just how life-changing this service is. After having babies, age, surgeries, and stress, women all over the world are experiencing thin hair, and I am no exception. I absolutely love the transformation that takes place in these women. Not just their outward appearance, but something shifts, There is just confidence about you when you feel better in your hair. It may seem vain, but this is beyond that; it is about women feeling beautiful, more than looking beautiful; fast forward, I’ve been an extension specialist and also educating locally in Maine when my husband and I decided to take the leap of faith and move to Texas! I am so grateful to be here and grateful to bring my passion to the beautiful women here. I am so beyond proud of the career I built in Maine and humbled to be here in Texas starting again!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a mom and small business owner, my first priority has been my kids. Getting them settled in a new state and now a new school. Now, it’s time for the hustle. I am excited to pursue any opportunity that comes my way. Social media has changed, and it’s a challenge to understand the algorithms to get my content out there for the Dallas ladies to see.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a hair extensionist and colorist. My specialty is fine hair transformations! I can’t even begin to describe the feeling when someone who has had a lifelong or even sudden struggle with their hair fullness and length comes to see me! I don’t know who gets more excited, them or me. Back in Maine, I was the first to offer this service. I would like to think I am known not just for my skill but also for my commitment to my clients. I really enjoy getting to know all of them on a more personal level. I love sharing life with my clients. I strive to always be continuing my craft and never settling on one way of doing something. What sets me apart? I’ve actually never asked my clients this because it feels like I’m fishing for compliments, but I hear constantly from my clients how real I am. I don’t put on a social media persona. I want every person to feel comfortable from the moment they sit in my chair. (or preferably before since most interactions start with IG messages!)

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was generally outgoing, and chatty. As much as I try to pretend I’m an introvert, the moment I’m comfortable in a situation, the shyness is gone! We grew up very involved in church, and to this day, I am so grateful for that foundation! I loved twirling batons, singing, dancing, and school. I always wanted to be a teacher, and thank the Lord that didn’t happen. I wasn’t made for it; I was made for exactly what I am doing now.
