Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Jeandron.
Alyssa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have come to find my mission- to preserve your legacy for future generations through the art of photography and printing. Our generation invests so many hours and energy in online posts, and we don’t realize that this is not somewhere your grandchildren will be looking! I provide heirloom quality preservation of the most important things in life, whatever that may be for you. I believe everyone deserves to invest in your future self.
My husband, Joshua, and I are about to celebrate our 5th anniversary (woo!). We have two crazy little boys: Emery, age 5, and Asher, age 2. Joshua shoots weddings with me and is my technical brain for all of the confusing IT needs I have! I have no idea what I would do without his support!
The beginning:
I recognized the passion I had for photography at age 13 and by high school, I was actively involved on our photography team which served as daily encouragement to better my skills. I’m a people pleaser, a self-starter, a social butterfly, whatever you want to call it… I believe the desire to grow my own career came so naturally from the beginning partially because of this.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road! But if it were easy, well… what’s the point?
I’m a photographer, right? I take photos. Oh, and maybe a few other things…
Customer service rep, financial manager, web and print designer, accountant, social media strategist, marketer, blogger…
Small business owner.
It took a while to wrap my brain around the fact that I had to learn how to run an efficient business, not just be a great photographer, in order to have peace within my personal life. When work is in chaos, your finances are probably in chaos, and that means your mind is probably not at peace.
I’ve come a long way, but I still spend my days working towards creating the best experience for my clients possible. I’m excited to see what the future holds!
Please tell us about Alyssa Grace Photography.
I have the opportunity to serve my community by doing something I love while creating an impact on the world that will outlive myself. And I think that’s pretty amazing.
As Alyssa Grace Photography, I offer the complete portrait experience. We meet to get comfortable with one another and talk about your needs, we shoot, and then we create. Every individual that chooses to work with me will leave with a tangible item to preserve their images: prints, a photobook, etc. It is my goal that you feel elated & confident with your choices, and in love with the outcome.
I treat my clients, not like “clients”. I want to know you! I want to hear your needs and visions for our time together to create something that is so perfectly you.
Simple, quality, personalized, joyful.
I love to preserve: wedding days. Engagements- your relationship, family moments, children’s milestones: birth, newborn, babies, birthdays, senior portraits. I also enjoy serving other business owners by providing branding images for the goals.
At the moment, I operate out of my home studio in Hurst, but shoot on location and at The Lumen Room studio most often.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I’ll give you two:
My dad built and flipped houses during his real estate years in Dallas -Vanderbilt, Monticello, Hanover… a few streets I specifically remember working on. As a young child, I watched him do big things, and I felt so excited to be a part of these ventures. I loved to help (as much as a 9-year-old can) and I learned so much seeing this close up view of business building and hard work.
My grandparents live out in good old’ Bowie, Texas! No, you probably haven’t heard of it because it’s a tiny cattle town one hour west of Fort Worth. I spent many summers out there playing with my cousins, making mud pies, and exploring pastures. My worries were small, and my fun was big.
