Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Boswell.
Hi Amanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was originally a watercolor artist under the business name Peachy Keen Studio Art. I then moved onto acrylics, then oil painting, then tapestry weaving. In 2020 I took a chance on photography. I was contracted with a local studio that specializes in fine art portraiture and it opened my eyes to the photography world. I was with this studio for over three years and met all kinds of people from every walk of life imaginable. It was an honor to experience it and gain all of the knowledge that I did. I ended up getting pregnant and taking a break from photography shortly after my 3 year anniversary with the studio and ended up parting ways. When my daughter was born I fell in love with capturing every little smile, movement, and expression of her. I was quickly reminded how much I loved photography. I eventually started my own photography business which is now Peachy Keen Portraits so that I could continue my craft but also stay home and watch my little girl grow up. It has been incredibly surreal and fulfilling to find and hone in on my own style and creativity. I love capturing love in all forms whether it’s between a mother and daughter, a grandmother with her grandkids, a sweet couple, or even other creatives celebrating milestones of their own.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A journey always has its bumps in the road but it is never something I am not willing to take head on.
I would find myself in self doubt but thanks to my amazing husband Ryon and the rest of my support system, I was always encouraged to keep going.
As you know, we’re big fans of Peachy Keen Portraits. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Peachy Keen Portraits is my photography business. I capture the warmth and authenticity in everyday moments with a soft, romantic, and whimsical touch. Not only am I passionate about the photography itself, but I am passionate about people. I think what sets me apart is my drive to connect with my clients. I have never met a stranger. I love celebrating others and their milestones. I love creating something that withstands time.
I am most proud of my journey of finding my own style after practicing a completely different style for over 3 years.
The biggest thing I want readers to know is that I care so much about my craft and my client’s lives. I love watching your little ones grow up. I love watching an engaged couple get married. I love watching a mom and dad get old together and become grandparents. It is the highest honor to be chosen to share these moments with people.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I’m a Fort Worth native but had moved away for a few years. When I came back, I quickly started to notice the beauty in my surroundings that I had taken for granted before. It has made me appreciate my city a lot more. Although, I still wish we had mountains!
