Meet Amy Stumpf

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Stumpf.

Amy Stumpf

Hi Amy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I wanted to introduce myself and my Argyle-based business. My name is Amy, a USAF Veteran. After breast cancer last year, I started this company to help subsidize my medical expenses. Since then, it has helped me to be able to spend more time with my 10-year-old daughter. We homeschool and this business allows us quality time learning and growing together as well as serving our community. Our trailer is a rustic horse trailer that has been converted to a coffee trailer. We offer gourmet craft coffee and other specialty/seasonal drinks, along with occasional small breakfast items such as muffins, scones, or similar types of pastries. We have a standard main menu, as well as added specials such as our current spring and specialty items.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We used personal funds to get going, which tapped into our savings being used to help treat breast cancer and other ongoing treatments/therapies. We are working to find our perfect location during the week. Currently, you can find us at special events, catering, employee appreciation, church functions, and local farmer’s markets. We have worked through changes to the trailer and equipment during the process after figuring what has or hasn’t worked. It has been a learning experience as a new business owner and is always evolving.

My civilian employment history is in the mortgage industry, but I stepped down after my cancer diagnosis before Christmas of 2022.

This meant making a scary decision with a big pay decrease, especially as the sole support for my daughter.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am proud to have beat cancer and thank God for blessing me with each passing day. I am a USAF disabled Veteran. My civilian employment history is in the mortgage industry, but I stepped down after my cancer diagnosis Christmas of 2022. Finding out you have stage 2 breast cancer the day after your daughter turns 9, truly makes you reevaluate life and figure out what is most important. I knew that I had to make changes to decrease stress as part of my recovering, so I decided to step down from a very stressful career.

This meant taking a scary decision with a big pay decrease, especially as the sole support for my daughter; I prayed about it and decided to focus on health and living. I am proud to say that I am in remission and work daily to keep myself there for my family. I decided to homeschool my daughter this year and we work our coffee trailer together. It has brought us closer and is something special we do together; it teaches her invaluable life skills. Life has many twists and turns. Sometimes, we may not fully understand the whys, but I feel this part of my life has helped me to shift my focus on what is most important, so in some ways, it is a little blessing in disguise. We are excited to see where this journey takes us.

We specialize in craft coffee drinks and specialty items such as Italian sodas, organic apple cider, gourmet hot cocoa, fresh fruit smoothies, and other seasonal options. We look to add additional such as fresh cold-pressed juices in the near future.

What makes you happy?
Living life to the fullest with my family and remembering to live life with God first. It is important to reflect each day and focus on the blessings. Positive breeds happiness.
