Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Martin.
Hi Ana , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
How I Found My Path in Dallas Real Estate
My journey to real estate in Dallas began long before I ever imagined entering the industry. I was born in Moscow, Russia, where discipline and perseverance were shaped early through my years as a Junior Olympic figure skater and later through my classical music studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. In 1990, I immigrated to the United States, a defining transition that taught me resilience, adaptability, and courage.
As I continued my education in the U.S., I earned a degree in Finance and Business Administration, which led me to begin my early career at Credit Suisse First Boston. There, I developed a strong foundation in financial strategy, market analysis, and negotiation; skills that would ultimately become invaluable across every chapter of my professional life.
After raising my two beautiful children and dedicating myself to building a strong family foundation, I embarked on a new professional path: I began working in the plastic surgery field and eventually managed a top Beverly Hills practice. It was there that I perfected my commitment to exceptional client service, discretion, and the ability to anticipate and meet people’s needs at the highest level.
In 2016, my life shifted in a deeply meaningful way when I met my soul sister, Dusty, in Los Angeles. She became an anchor in my life, but it wasn’t until later that I realized just how profoundly she would impact my future. After the heartbreaking passing of my husband of 18 years, Dusty stood by me through every stage of grief. She reminded me of my strength when I felt depleted and encouraged me to believe in the possibility of rebuilding my life. Her love, guidance, and unwavering belief in me helped open the door to a new chapter I never expected.
In 2021, feeling inspired and supported, I made the life-changing decision to move to Dallas. I was immediately drawn to the city’s rapid growth, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep sense of community. Very naturally, I gravitated toward real estate—a field that brought together my financial background, business acumen, and passion for helping people through meaningful transitions.
Shortly after arriving, I began collaborating with prominent developers and immersed myself in both luxury residential real estate and commercial leasing. The more I connected with clients, many experiencing major life changes of their own, the more I realized how deeply my personal journey had prepared me to guide others with empathy, precision, and confidence.
Today, I’m proud to be part of the Dallas–Fort Worth real estate community. As a trilingual agent fluent in English, Russian, and Armenian, I’m honored to support a diverse, international clientele. My mission is simple: to advocate fiercely for my clients, negotiate strategically on their behalf, and deliver service rooted in integrity, dedication, and heart.
Moving to Dallas did more than reshape my career—it rebuilt my life. And I will always be grateful to Dusty and her family for helping me find the courage to begin again, and to this extraordinary city for welcoming me with open arms and endless possibility.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges I faced along the way was building a client base that genuinely trusted me. When I arrived in Dallas, I didn’t have the advantage of long-established relationships or deep local roots. I had to begin completely from scratch in a competitive market where trust is earned, not given.
What sustained me through this journey was my faith. Through constant prayer, guidance, and trust in God’s timing, I felt supported every step of the way. My faith gave me the strength to stay focused, the patience to keep going when progress felt slow, and the confidence that I was on the right path, even when I couldn’t yet see the results.
Little by little, through consistency, integrity, and God’s grace, clients began to believe in me. One client turned into another, trust grew, and my business expanded in the most meaningful way; built on authenticity, compassion, and divine guidance.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I feel truly supported at Dave Perry Miller Real Estate and incredibly blessed to work alongside so many talented, inspiring agents. The collaborative spirit within our team motivates me every day, and the guidance and support from our office team leader, Jamie Adler, along with our corporate family, gives me the confidence to grow, serve my clients, and continue building my career with purpose. I’m grateful to be part of a community that believes in each other and uplifts one another every step of the way.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Yes! Finding a mentor and building a network is all about authenticity and curiosity. For me, Leo Amaya, Vice President of Crescent Estates Custom Homes, was monumental in learning the new construction business. He took me under his wing, and together we walked construction sites while I took notes and learned hands-on. To this day, I still hear Leo’s words in my mind: the more you learn, the better realtor you will become, even if you don’t need to know every detail of new construction. I am thankful for his guidance, which continues to shape the way I grow in this business.
In general, I’ve found that the best approach is to connect with people you admire, ask thoughtful questions, and focus on building real relationships, mentorship often grows naturally from that. And above all, have faith bigger than your fears; it will guide you toward the right people and the right opportunities.
