Meet AnaLee Pleasured

Today we’d like to introduce you to AnaLee Pleasured.

AnaLee, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started out as a drag enthusiast volunteering for a local charity. I started low, greeting people at the doors of events, and worked my way up to being the co-host of the monthly fundraiser. I consider myself a charity queen, donating my time to LGBT+ charities and events across the Metroplex. I can often be found at events for the Resource Center of Dallas and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. During the day, I work in the finance industry and spend as much of my time as I can educating and training on diversity and inclusion in the profession workplace.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been smooth, but most roads generally are not. I started out small, slowly working to develop my skills. I worked with other experienced performers to learn from them and slowly, with lots of mistakes, I’ve grown into the mess I am today! And I will continue to keep developing my art and working to help raise funds for our community’s needs.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a drag performer who specializes in flirting uncontrollably, making saucy comments, and fundraising for great causes! I dedicate my free time and my art to supporting multiple charity organizations in the DFW area.

Do you feel like our city is a good place for businesses like yours? If someone was just starting out, would you recommend them starting out here? If not, what can our city do to improve?
Every city is a good place to do charity work! I encourage everyone reading this to dedicate a couple of hours this month to putting their hands to a good cause. Whether it is helping out at a food bank, or building houses for the homeless or tutoring youth in a subject in which you excel, there is always work to be done. If you are unsure of where to get started, there are great resources for finding local charities in your community. With social media like Facebook and Instagram, it is easier than ever to connect directly to these organizations. Charity Navigator is another great place to check out what is in your area.
