I am Andrea Anderson-Parks, I hold a BS in Biology and Chemistry, M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction with a Science Endorsement, and M.Ed in K-12 Administration with a specialization in Urban Leadership. I thought that my life would be composed of science and education forever. Never did I think that I could or would be an entrepreneur, but I am and have always been in my heart.
I began the journey to complete entrepreneurship while still being an educator a few years ago, and now, I am the owner of Royally Sheik Accessories. I sell accessories for men, women, and children and I love it. I love showing individuals what is possible when they accent their look with accessories. I only know hard work, dedication, sacrifice of time, and effort to improve my skillset; this is what has propelled my business forward in just six short months of full-time entrepreneurship.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This journey has not been a smooth road. There were times I wanted to give up because I felt that I didn’t have the support of those closest to me and that was pretty heartbreaking. Despite that, I pressed on because of a quote I read from author Richelle E. Goodrich, that stated, “Don’t ever give up. Don’t ever give in. Don’t ever stop trying. Don’t ever sell out. And if you find yourself succumbing to one of the above for a brief moment, pick yourself up, brush yourself off, whisper a prayer, and start where you left off.
But never, ever, ever give up.” This quote has helped me to push past the barriers that I encounter, like lack of support, because it reminds me of a few things; 1. No one asked me to start this business, I chose to start. 2. No one has my heart, only I do, so again, I choose how I move forward. 3. If I want for my family to have a different trajectory of life, then I must do something different. All of those things require for me to push, persevere, and press my way through every obstacle.

Royally Sheik Accessories is an accessory company selling, men, women, and children’s pieces. My business is known for its fashion-forward sets and the fact that all of my items are nickel and lead-free. All of the pieces are versatile and can be paired with different prints and styles.
I am proud to have a team of ladies who also desire to have a different trajectory of life working with me. It makes every sacrifice incredibly worth it. I believe what sets my business apart is the fact that I demonstrate my heart and love for making people look and feel great, it’s not just about the consumer making a purchase, it is about the relationship.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
There are big plans for Royally Sheik Accessories! I am planning to build an empire of entrepreneurs, both women and men who love to make others feel good about themselves. I am planning to do a quarterly shop & share with other entrepreneurs in the area; while also developing the next phase of my business partnerships.
