Meet Andrea Sledge of National All World Beauties and Man of Distinction Pageant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Sledge.

Andrea, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It has been quite the ride to get here. I started my journey into pageantry in 2009 as a delegate in the Miss Plus America Pageant system under Texas Plus America as Miss Plano Texas! I always loved competing but wanted to dabble in directorship; therefore, I directed for North Dallas County for 2011 & 2012. This is really where I found my purpose in pageantry.

In 2015, I competed in the National All World Beauties Pageant and won their inaugural title of “Ms. Ultimate All World Beauties U.S.” In 2016, the former Director stepped down and asked if I would take over and here we are three years later!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a purpose-filled road. I will not call it difficult for every struggle has surely served a purpose. When I first came into pageantry I did not win every competition I entered; in fact, I did not place in my first three. It was difficult because you feel as though those who have supported your journey have been let down in a sense. What I know now is that every loss served a purpose. I learned to give myself time, to really be self-reflective of how I can always aim to be better, compassion, patience and a strong belief that all things are attainable with the right focus.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about National All World Beauties and Man of Distinction Pageant – what should we know?
I am the Owner of The A.Sledge brand, which is the parent company for the National All World Beauties Pageant, the Ultimate Touch: Pageant Brand and contestant development and The Pretty Nikki Collection.

The National All World Beauties Pageant is a pageant for all ages and genders. We have several divisions from ages 15 to 80. We are a system that is grounded in the three pillars of inner beauty, empowerment, and service. It is important that we remain unique in not only how we really focus on contestant development but keep an authentic approach to how our system is ran. We are grounded in truth, transparency, and integrity.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Stepping into the world of pageantry takes a ton of courage. I am grateful to those that have really aided in my overall development as a competitor and now as an owner. My mentor Mrs. Nanette Weeks-Watts and my mother Cynthia D. Sledge have gone above and beyond to ensure that I am successful in this journey. Nanette really schooled me on the do’s and don’ts of pageantry and what it means to remain classic in an ever-changing world. Through her training institute, “Pageants Unlimited Plus” I have learned tools that have helped me just not in my pageant career by in my professional life as well.
