Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Diaz.
Angel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It all started when I was a young boy facing obesity/depression/insecurity and unsure of life. I remember my parents being worried about me always encouraging me to begin watching my diet and begin eating healthy. I, however, didn’t want that. It was all until one day I got tired of being called names, being laughed at for my weight that I decided I would make a LIFE CHANGE. I told my parents I was ready to start a diet and begin to exercise.
It was then my parents took me into a consultation with a dietitian, and I began my diet. I told my dad I would not let him down… I worked hard… gave up all sweets and all the junk I was putting into my body, I would go run EVERYDAY passed my limits when I would begin to get tired I would push HARDER because I had a goal and was ready to make a CHANGE!
Six months down the road, I was down over 70 lbs and was ready to take on a new challenge. My whole life had changed, for the first time in years I loved life again! I knew my story could help others, but I wasn’t done yet. I began to work out at a gym and set new goals for myself. When others heard my story, they asked if I could train them.
It was then when a spark hit me, and I knew exactly what I wanted in life. I went back to school and got my certifications to become a trainer as well as a nutrition specialist and began to study business. Throughout the entire process, I knew I wanted to create something.. to create a brand.. a business that would be based on helping individuals to dream again!
Alphastetic Competitors was founded in 2015 and was created to be more than just a gym, it was created to stand for something, be a community to motivate individuals to work hard towards a goal and become a better version of themselves. I like to go by a certain motto; “All it takes is a little time, a little consistency and a little dedication.”
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I would say the challenges have been what I have allowed them to be. Nothing in life is easy, but again, life is only as hard as we allow it to be. I remember when I started I was working full time at a local gym and going to school full time.
There were nights where I would only sleep two-three hours, but I knew it would be worth the run, I had a goal, and NOTHING was gonna get in the way. If I had to go back and do it all over again, I would!
There is no true obstacle in life when you’re working towards a dream. You are your only challenge to defeat.

We aren’t your typical gym and what sets us apart is we are a training studio where we take time to work with clients individually to ensure EVERYONE gets the results they are looking for.

I’ve had a huge support system. To my parents back since day 1 when they encouraged me to begin a healthy lifestyle my friends and family who have believed in all my dreams since I shared it with them.
A friend who I will always be thankful to is Griselda, she saw me back when I was starting off as a trainer and never doubted me. She helped develop all my ideas and helped me turn them into a reality.
I also have to give thanks to one of my trainers here at Alphastetic Competitors soon to be partner, Jorge. He has played a big role in growing the company and helping change the lives of our clients.
Last but not least, I have to give a huge thanks to my promised girlfriend. She has supported me, helped me through every moment and has been my solid rock! We all have a support system, and those who think can do it on their own are wrong.
