Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela D. Williams.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Back in 2014, I had an epiphany that led me on a soul search to figure out my true purpose in life. I’d just moved to Dallas by way of Atlanta to be closer to my family in Shreveport, La. I was in search of a fresh new start after my divorce and things were difficult. It was hard finding a job because in Atlanta I worked as a freelance Makeup Artist and Esthetician for the span of about 2-3 years. I also have a B.S. degree in Biology and 11 solid years of Sterility/Microbiology testing in the Biopharmaceutical industry. Upon moving to Texas, there was a legitimate gap between my previous experience and new career choice in the beauty industry. This made my job search very challenging. In addition, a lot of my counterparts were PH. D qualified and all I had was a B.S. Degree in Biology and an Esthetics license to boot.
During this time, I also had to undergo two major surgeries that weren’t planned upon my arrival and that made the job search even more difficult. I felt overwhelmed by it all. I not only had to care for myself but my son also. He was just starting the 8th grade and trying to adjust to a new city. I knew I had to do something to enrich our lives, so I prayed often.
After my recovery, I was able to land a job with an up and coming Pharmaceutical company in Irving, Texas. However, I quickly realized that my day was filled with “co-worker consultations” also known as “coaching”. At the time, I didn’t realize I was coaching. I just thought I was giving some great insight until I discovered a life coach by the name of Dawniel Winningham. Dawniel was conducting a live video chat on Periscope where she listed the attributes of a life coach. I was every bit of what she described. I then started looking into becoming a certified life coach which led me to Grand Canyon University.
In short, I enrolled at Grand Canyon and attended classes online to receive my Master of Science degree in Psychology with an emphasis on life coaching. After graduating, I went on to complete my life coaching certification with The Life Coaching Institute of Orange County and started working with my very own personal Business coach (Ese Eniwumide). This is how Angela Williams Global came to be and from there the creation of the Faith Academy was born. Coach Ese helped me to realize that I was uniquely positioned to transform the lives of Christian women using faith-based principles, so I created an online course entitled, “Master Your Mountains-6-week Transformation Course”. This course is designed to expose the root cause of self-sabotaging beliefs and the spiritual connection that’s directly tied to one’s purpose. I help my clients by bridging the gap, removing unhealthy labels, and filling the void so they can flow in their God-given zone of genius. I’ve also authored two books that are currently published on Amazon entitled, “B.O.S.S. Up Mindset Journal-50 Journal Prompts to Help You Break Out of Self Sabotage” and “B.O.S.S. Up Prayer Activations-Power Packed Prayers to Help You Break Out of Self Sabotage. I’m happy to report that both of my books are Amazon bestsellers.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing worth having comes easy so the answer would be no. In the process of my journey, we’ve endured eviction, car repossession, and extreme downsizing. During the seven months of unemployment as a result of the surgeries alone were extremely difficult. I had to rely on family, friends, and good Samaritans to get us through. I must say it was a trying time for all involved, but my faith in God and my ability to pray effectual and fervent prayers got us through the toughest of times. In addition, I learned some very hard lessons while growing my business and brand. Not everyone is always honest about what they can truly offer you to get you to your next level. It’s very unfortunate, especially when you’re hungry for success. I must say, trial and error has been a great teacher.
Please tell us about Angela Williams Global – what should we know?
Angela Williams Global is an overarching umbrella that allows me to have more than one business venture. I currently have my hand in several business ventures. I’m co-owner of RBA Professionals which is my commercial cleaning business, I’m a published author, a motivational speaker, and a transformation coach/faith mentor.
I’m on a divine mission to help Christian women B.O.S.S. Up (Break Out of Self-Sabotage) so they can start flowing in their God-given zone of genius. I’m also known to many as a prayer warrior and a woman of great faith.
What sets me apart from others who teach about mindset and self-sabotage is that I deal with the spiritual aspect of one’s limiting beliefs. I use biblical principles to show exactly how the enemy is directly connected to self-sabotaging beliefs and ideologies. I also use biblical figures as examples to show how they overcame their trauma and triumphed in the end. I found this method to be most impactful because at the end of the day we are all spirits having a human experience. Why not enjoy it to the fullest.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I must say I’ve learned to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. The journey of entrepreneurship is not for the faint at heart. You must be willing to work extremely hard, stay the course, develop tough skin, and keep your eyes on the prize. There have been a lot of late nights and early mornings associated with making strides in my business. I never underestimate the power of progress. The bumps and bruises are lessons, not losses. This was something I had to tell myself repeatedly. There were times I felt as if I took ten steps backwards, but it was one big step in the right direction. Lastly, I believe in building solid relationships with people and that has helped me tremendously. My truest success is helping others succeed.
