Meet Angela Fleming of New Seasons Photography in North West Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Fleming.

Angela, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I like to say my career chose me. I have always had a love & passion for photography and all things art. No matter what path I chose, it kept coming back to photography. I’m also a hopeless romantic so pair those two things together and it’s the perfect storm for a wedding photographer! I never quite felt like I fit into the 9-5 office career. Serving people, capturing joy, and celebrating love are my most favorite things and it was / is those things that compel people to hire me as their wedding photographer. Before I knew it, it had snowballed into an incredible business! I have now been shooting professionally for about 7 years and can’t imagine anything else! I love that everyday is different and each couple and wedding has their own unique story.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Owning a business in general is tough. Long & sometimes lonely hours, lots of sacrifice and learning how to make smart business choices on my own are some of the challenges. Not having a sounding board when trying to make some of those decisions for my business was especially difficult for me. I like having a support system to lean on when I’m unsure about a situation or how to handle a decision but over time I have found that in other local industry professionals and it has made the world of difference in my business! Networking has been key for this! Another struggle I’ve always had (and will always have) is honestly loving my job so much that I never stop working. It can be challenging to know when to put the work away for the day and just be mom, wife & Angela.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about New Seasons Photography – what should we know?
New Seasons Photography specializes in wedding photography! I’m known for my joyful disposition and quirky sense of humor but also my bright, vibrant photographs with couples who are tons of fun!

I’m most proud of how I’ve never left behind who I am through all of it. It’s tempting to change who you are to fit into what you THINK couples are looking for, and while my style is different than most, I have found that the couples that hire me are the ones that are the best fit for my personality and vice versa!

I think the thing that sets me apart from most is my personality and the service I offer. My work is beautiful, but the service I offer is top notch. I’m there to serve my couple 100% and I give it all I have when I’m with them. Their experience with photography is just as important as the final product they receive from me! I want them to look back on their photographs and remember how amazing of a day it was and how wonderful they felt in that moment!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My family, specifically my husband, and both sets of our parents have been the most amazing supporters through all the ups and downs. They’re the first people to celebrate with me and the last ones holding my hand when I’m down in the dumps. They have also been the babysitters on countless weekends so I can give my job 100% without having to worry about my sweet kids!

Laura Parker – Laura is a photography power house & she gave me a chance at working as a photographer when no one else knew I even existed. She took me under her wing, shared every ounce of her knowledge with me about photography AND business, encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and showed me how to truly run a successful business. The things I learned from her have been priceless and I could never repay her for her selflessness & the confidence she put in me from day 1!

Robbie Aleman – Fellow DFW photographer & business owner. We have been friends from the moment we met while shooting together. She keeps me grounded when owning a business seems daunting, keeps me laughing when I feel like I’m going crazy and gives me those honest reality checks I so desperately need from time to time. Her friendship and love is unconditional and I am forever grateful.
