Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelo Gonzalez.
Hi Angelo, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Angelo Gonzalez, a Fort Worth–based artist who’s been creating since I was a kid. I work across all mediums — photography, digital art, physical artwork, design, and now video — pretty much anything that helps me bring an idea to life. A lot of my early inspiration came from my parents’ taste in music, film, and culture, which shaped my creative eye from the start.
My work really began to grow when artists I admired started sharing and using my visuals. Seeing that happen — along with watching the creativity coming out of the DFW scene — was the first moment I realized this path was actually possible for someone like me. It gave me the confidence to take my craft seriously.
Today I run Hommage Media, where I create interviews, visuals, videos, and projects that highlight artists and culture, and Makaden, my clothing brand that focuses on expression and storytelling. A big part of my process is involving my close friends in everything I build — from modeling, helping with concepts, and contributing ideas, to growing together creatively. My work is always rooted in collaboration and community.
Everything I’ve built is self-taught and from the ground up. My goal is to keep elevating both brands and continue inspiring others to create their own lane. You can follow my journey on Instagram @angeloaadenn
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Balancing personal life, work, creating, and building Hommage and Makaden from zero hasn’t always been easy, especially without guidance or resources.
There were times when I doubted myself, didn’t have the equipment I needed, or felt like I wasn’t moving fast enough. But each setback pushed me to learn more, stay consistent, and rely on my own support and from the close friends I create with. Those challenges ended up shaping my discipline and my style, and they’re a big part of why I’m still going strong today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a multidisciplinary artist and creative who works across all mediums — photography, physical art, digital art, design, and recently video work. I love turning ideas into visuals, whether it’s through portraits, abstract pieces, clothing concepts, or interviews. What I’m known for is creating art that feels personal and intentional, and for blending the people closest to me into everything I do. My friends are a part of Hommage Media and Makaden, whether they’re in front of the camera, giving feedback, or helping bring ideas to life.
With Hommage Media, I focus on storytelling through visuals and interviews that highlight creativity and culture. With Makaden, I design clothing that reflects identity and the world around me. What sets me apart is my ability to move fluidly across different art forms and make everything feel connected — my photos, my paintings, my videos, and my brand all feed into each other. I’m most proud of building all of this from the ground up and staying consistent while growing my style.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I regularly watch the PBD Podcast to strengthen my management mindset and decision-making. I’ve also been reading more books on economics and philosophy, especially as I grow deeper in my renewed faith in Jesus Christ and God. These resources help me stay grounded, focused, and continually improving in both work and life. I also constantly watch interview of my favorite artist to try and depict what all makes them succeed.
