Meet Anthony Harris of H2 Digital Creative in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Harris.

Anthony, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Somewhere around five years ago, I got a strange itch to start a business. I had always read about entrepreneurs and business owners and was always intrigued. I don’t think I ever doubted I could start a business, I just never took action until my late 30’s.  To this day, that is my biggest regret. I am a huge believer of it’s never too late for anything.  However, if you’re looking for the “right time” or when “I have a little more time or money”, it’s never going to happen. The time to start a business is NOW, or for that matter anything else. Time is the one commodity you can never get back, once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. So do something today, not tomorrow, today!

It’s not going to be easy, in fact, there is a pretty high chance you are going to fail. Don’t let that stop you. Going back to that day five years ago, I got the inclination to start a business and I did, with a business partner. That business failed and right now I am on business #2 and #3. But that failed business provided me so much value for the journey I am on right now. It was the snowball that started the process of today. It introduced me to some really great contacts. And more importantly, it showed me that IT can be done, we just have to take that first step.

Both of my current businesses are in their infancy stage and we are just working to build a solid base of clients. H2 Digital Creative is a full-service boutique digital marketing agency where we help businesses grow their online presence. We do that by revamping their website or building a completely new one. We provide SEO (Search Engine Optimization) services which basically means we help businesses get found on google. We provide logo development and branding services, which help businesses find their identity and stand out from their competition.

We also provide social media marketing services, which basically removes social media from their daily activities and we effectively grow their social media audience which in turn brings customers in. My other business is publishing and advertising. All of this that I have going on, I give thanks to that first business that failed. It was the catalyst and there is no stopping me now.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not at all. Some of the initial struggles have been basic business 101. Do I have to set up an LLC? How hard is that and should I pay someone to do this? Do I need a website? How much does a website cost? What about business cards? How do I decide on a company name?

All of these are basic but valid questions. Not all are necessary in the beginning, for example, don’t think you will build a website and clients will come flocking. It will be the complete opposite, crickets. You have to go get the business. You can pay someone to set up your LLC, but you can also save a lot doing it yourself, the real question is depending on the TYPE of business you have, determines whether you pay someone or not. Today’s struggles are getting the customers. They still don’t come running, you have to go get them and it takes work.

I currently own two businesses, H2 Digital Creative and a franchise model neighborhood publication. H2DC helps businesses with their online presence, whether that be social media management, website development or logo and branding. The neighborhood publication partners local businesses with really great residents through a high-quality award-winning publication. H2DC is known for working for our clients until the work is done. We will always aim for a full 100% satisfaction and do everything in our power to achieve that. The neighborhood publication is known for creating those lasting relationships between businesses and residents.

My proudest moment to date, has been recently when I began to see some small traction and real revenue. I am a big believer in multiple streams of income, and my goal to achieve this is slowly starting to develop. We believe what sets up apart is building and maintaining those relationships to find a mutually beneficial outcome for both parties. We have declined working with some clients before because we saw and/or felt that it wasn’t a true fit. We are here to serve you, but if it’s not a right fit, it’s not a right fit.

What were you like growing up?
Always into sports. Always being active and outdoors. I am a huge soccer fan and have played the sport since I was 5 years old. I have always been somewhat reserved and maybe more when I was younger, but always very genuine and loyal. I was always have been honest and truthful… and lastly, I have always tried to be honest and truthful in everything I do… and lastly, I have always been determined. Something that has helped me reach my goals!
