Today we’d like to introduce you to Antrell Jones.
Hi Antrell, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Let me take you back to when it all started. I’ve always been interested in the cosmology world. Never got the opportunity to join in high school. I even tried after high school & still was unable to. At that time, I was consistently working at Whataburger as a cashier. I’ve always knew what I wanted to do moving forward.
In 2019 I would follow lash techs & lash models on Instagram to see where I could invest my money, like a lash class or group class.
I just knew I was going to spend a lot of money investing in myself.
It took me a while & that’s when I found www.winkoutloudlashbar.com
And she had a one-day class that interested me, so I hit her up sent a deposit, and got my date, this lash class was classics only. I would practice on my friends and it would literally take me 3-4 hours on both eyes. let me tell you when I say it was hard just getting somebody to lay that long. I would almost not even tell them how long it would take just because I wanted to practice so bad lol. So, time passed I practiced & practiced and still had no clients. So, I decided to take another class in 2019 with Kartel, he specialized in volume lash extensions. Around this time volume lashes/ strip lashes look were booming, so I got certified. I was told to do 10 free clients to gain clientele. I would ask my friends and family if I can practice on them and from there, I got two of my friends to volunteer for me, they loved them. once I figured out how to get more products, I knew I had to bring my A-game on & that’s when my journey as an official Lash Tech began.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say it was been very bumpy lol & good at the same time lashing just because I was working & lashing.
I would say keeping up with lash glue & which lash trays to use. making sure I was consistent with my work and also on social media with posting & etc.
I believe when doing lashes, you need to practice practice, practice even when your clientele is slow.
I’ve struggled with my time; I would time myself like 2 hour & 30 minutes max.
I also strive to keep my clients comfortable as much as possible & most importantly satisfied.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a DFW lash tech but I Love to consider myself as an artist. I specialize more in volume lash set; I’m known for full & fluffy lash looks / bold looks I’m most proud of staying consistent & not giving up on my myself most importantly.
What sets me apart from other Lash Tec is I take criticism very well I’m willing to fix or change anything for my clients if needed I’m willing to go over & beyond.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my lash journey was to stick to my lash policies also dropping my tweezers all the time was not good. There were times where I had to lash on a client with Bent tweezers. write & keep up with recipes. Was another
