Araceli, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hello ladies, I am the founder of Your Glam Artistry. I am both a licensed esthetician and cosmetologist. I specialize in body waxing, skincare and I am also a traveling hairstylist for special events, I have been in the beauty industry since 2013, and till this day I am more in love than ever with what I do. By my side, I work with my co-founder Sandra Barrientos she specializes in body waxing, eyebrow shaping and skincare.
Let’s begin on where Your Glam Artistry was born. In 2016, I was currently working for a waxing company here in Dallas on weekdays, and in the weekends, I was a traveling hairstylist. At the moment, I was a single mother of a 3-month-old baby boy. I not only fell in love with giving women confidence but also the bond I had created with my clients.
Now, let’s fast forward to 2018 where an unexpected event happened where I no longer worked for that company. I was very distraught and confused about what to do next, I knew in my heart that I no longer wanted to work for a company. I wanted to have the availability to not miss out so much in my kid’s life but at the same time, I did not want to be a stay at home mom, I loved the feeling of having something going on for myself. As a mother, it is hard to juggle work, and still trying to be there for your kids. That’s when I knew I had to open up my own business. I believed in myself and knew what I was capable of. This is where Your Glam Artistry was created. This was my time, MY DREAM!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I can’t lie and say my journey has been easy. Along with my dream of becoming a business owner, came a lot of headaches, self-doubt, hard work, long nights of overthinking and the worst one of all, anxiety! When you first open up a business, you basically go into it blindly, not knowing exactly what the outcome will be but hoping for the best. You literally invest every dime In your savings & as a mother, I gave up all the time I had with my kids the first couple of months. As a business owner, I’ve learned along the road that in this industry, you have to put in all your hard work, dedication, time but most importantly make sacrifices to get to where you want to be.

As a traveling hairstylist, Your Glam Artistry offers luxury, on-site wedding hair and makeup in the DFW area. Services offered by Your Glam Artistry will make sure you and your bridesmaids look picture perfect for the entire wedding day. We can accommodate groups of any size, offering a variety of beauty, skincare, hair styling, and makeup services. You can receive a consultation and trial services as well. My favorite hairstyle at this moment is the messy updo! Ton’s of wedding trends come and go, but in my book, there hasn’t been a bridal updo I haven’t loved over the years. The great thing about wedding updos lies in their versatility and the fact that there’s a version that looks good on pretty much everyone. You can play around with your hair’s part, the looseness or tightness of the bun, or your hair’s texture and it totally changes its vibe.
I also specialize in Brazilian waxing, which I can perform in less than 15 minutes, you’ll be in and out in no time. Your Glam Artistry offers full body waxing, Lash lifts & tints, eyebrow shaping & henna tinting, facials, vajacials and skin lighting. Using the best hard wax which is created to work great on sensitive areas. Waxing reduces your hair growth and for some, the hair stops growing completely. In addition to removing the hair from the root, waxing is a great form of exfoliation and creates silky smooth skin.
As a mother of 2, I know how nerve-wracking your first time can be. Most women are interested in wax but most of the time it’s their nerves that gets the best of them when trying something new. We should never let our insecurities or fears stop us from taking care of ourselves! My passion is to help women find their beauty, the best part of ourselves is our confidence!
