Today we’d like to introduce you to Areli Gonzalez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Belle Decor was founded by Juan Cardenas, the owner. He started the company on his own and with his family. I met Juan through an event and would help from time to time. I worked full time at a credit union at the time, and I would help with events & consults after work, and on the weekends. It became as if it were my own, I loved Belle and we were growing as a company because we had a great team. As time passed, I realized how much I really enjoyed being in the event industry and after long talks with Juan, he throughout the option of coming into Belle full time. In February of 2018, I started with Belle Decor full time and I took in all the consults, and Juan was able to focus on being the creative owner he always has been, and since then we have just grown and grown. I got into the event industry without even really thinking this is what I would be doing. I thought I would end up at the credit union my whole life until I realized that this industry was my passion. Juan placed his trust in me, and we have been doing an amazing job together with Belle.
Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all, the event industry has its ups and downs, sometimes its hard to maintain a great team and we have all learned almost every part of the industry.. from doing consults, loading up a truck, unloading a truck, setting up and break down. The hours are really long, on a Saturday, we can work almost 15+ hours, but I continue to do it because I love my clients.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Belle Decor Dallas story. Tell us more about it.
We are a full production event decor/rental company. We pride ourselves on custom pieces. We will do an event from set up to tear down, from floral, to rentals, we can do it all-almost. We try to keep it a one-stop shop and make it one place that the client has to go for it all. If we don’t have it, we will make it!
Me, as in the company am now the sales director. I am in charge of all the client consults, the process of putting all that together, as far as the event and I also handle all of our emails (until I find the perfect assistant) we all do a little of everything at Belle!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Yes! We can see it now. Belle is growing! Belle has a new partner as of January 2019. Juan & Miriama have huge plans for Belle Decor in the future. In just about a little over a month, we will be moving into a new warehouse in a little over a month that is just about four times the size of the current one. We are super excited about all the future plans we all have for Bell Decor Dallas, and beyond grateful for all the people who have trusted us along the way.
