Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Campbell.
Ariel , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started singing at a very young age. My first solo was at just two years old. and music has been a central part of my life ever since. I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and later gained national attention performing with my family group, The Fam, alongside my sister and my late mother, Tisha Boyd-Smith. That season really shaped my foundation in ministry and vocal excellence.
Today I’m based in Texas (Princeton Texas) , where I serve as an ordained Minister of the Gospel and the Praise and Worship Leader at Amazing Church in McKinney. I’m also a graduate of Full Sail University with a degree in Media and Communications, which helped me develop both the creative and technical sides of my artistry.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with incredible Gospel artists like Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Tye Tribbett, and The Clark Sisters, and in 2023 I joined Kirk Franklin on The Reunion Tour. Most recently, I stepped further into my solo journey with the release of my debut single, “Here,” in June 2025. Everything I do is rooted in ministry, authenticity, and using my voice to impact people.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It would be great to say the road has been smooth, but if I’m honestly, it hasn’t. My journey has been beautiful, however it’s definitely come with many challenges. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to balance life outside of ministry while still fully showing up for ministry. There are a lot of responsibilities that I carry, and I don’t take any of them lightly.
It’s truly an honor to be trusted with all God has placed in my hands. however it hasn’t always been easy. If life had been easy, I wouldn’t have grown into who I am today. My hardest seasons have taught me and are still teaching me some of life’s most valuable lessons.
I’ve also walked through some very pivotal personal moments that stretched me deeply. Losing my mom was a major turning point in my life and heart, and navigating that season while continuing to serve and lead required a level of strength and surrender I didn’t know I had.
I’ve also faced challenges in my conception journey, and learning and still learning how to process that while still showing up in all areas faithfully has been both difficult and refining.
However through it all, I’ve learned and still learning how to find the beauty in the middle of the challenges. I’ve learned and I’m still learning how to embrace the process, hold onto my joy, hold on to my smile and trust God through every season. So no, it hasn’t been smooth, but it has been meaningful, purposeful, and full of necessary growth.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I serve in full-time ministry and currently work at Amazing Church in McKinney, Texas, which I truly love. I’m the Praise and Worship Leader and also a Worship Media Assistant, working closely with our production team to create space for people to encounter the presence of God. My work centers around leading people into authentic worship experiences through music, media, and ministry. I specialize in vocals, vocal arranging. I love creating melodies and unique vocal parts and worship leadership. Most people know me for my singing, but also for my heart for people and the way I show up with joy and care.
Beyond my voice, I’m known for my big personality, my smile, my hugs, my laugh, my humor, and my goofiness. I genuinely love God and people, and I try to make every space I enter feel bright, warm, safe, and welcoming. I love making people feel seen and cared for, and I’ll take time to hug every single person in the room, whether I know them or not.
What I’m most proud of is my courage and strength. A lot of people wouldn’t believe this, but I use to hide in the background and get overwhelmed at the thought of singing in front of people. I would literally run away at times. However, choosing to push past fear and step forward anyway completely changed my life.
Because I took that risk, I’ve been able to experience so many incredible opportunities that God has opened for me.
What sets me apart is my personality and my intentionality the way I care for and serve others, the way I approach ministry, and the way I show up fully and authentically. I don’t take what I do lightly. I lead and serve from a real place, and I believe people can feel that.
What are your plans for the future?
For the future, I’m really looking forward to traveling more and seeing more of the world. I’ve been fortunate to have some opportunities already, but there are so many places on my list that I’ve always dreamed of visiting, and I can’t wait to experience them.
I’m also excited to continue creating and releasing music, exploring new ways to share my voice and ministry with people. On a personal level, I’m looking forward to eventually having children, whether naturally or through IVF. That’s a season I’m anticipating with hope and faith.
Ultimately, I’m looking forward to whatever God has planned for me next. I want to continue growing, serving, and embracing all the opportunities and experiences He brings my way.
