Meet Arines Varela of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arines Varela.

Hi Arines, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story began with content creation. I started sharing my life, my creativity, and the things I genuinely love on social media, and over time, that opened the door to reconnect with something I had always been passionate about: flowers.
I had already spent many years working in the floral industry, so I had the experience, knowledge, and love for the craft. Combining that experience with my passion for content creation gave me the idea to build something of my own—and that’s how Ari’s Florals began.
As a mom, wife, and Latina woman, building a family business has been an incredibly meaningful journey. Today, I wear many hats: I’m a florist, entrepreneur, content creator, and most importantly, a mom. My social media has allowed me to share not only my floral work but also my everyday life, creativity, plants, local experiences, and the things I discover and love with my community.
With Ari’s Florals, I specialize in creating bespoke, whimsical, and dreamy floral designs, particularly for weddings and garden-style celebrations. I love working with fresh, beautiful blooms and paying attention to every little detail.
But I don’t believe I’m simply selling flowers. My clients are investing in the experience, the emotion, and the memories those flowers will be part of. That is what makes this business so special to me—being able to combine my creativity, my experience, and my love for people to create something meaningful for their most important moments.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been the language barrier. As a Latina building a business in the U.S., communicating my ideas and understanding exactly what my clients envision has been a learning experience.

But I quickly realized that communication goes far beyond simply speaking the same language. When working with couples, especially for such an important day as their wedding, I need to understand what they truly want—not just the flowers they like, but their personal style, the feeling they want their wedding to have, the season, the venue, and their budget.

Every couple is different, and finding the right balance between their vision, what is in season, and what fits within their budget can be challenging. I’ve learned to listen carefully, ask the right questions, educate my clients about their options, and find creative ways to bring their vision to life.

Those challenges have actually helped me become a better florist and a better business owner. They’ve taught me that creating beautiful wedding flowers isn’t just about design—it’s about listening, understanding, and building trust with my clients.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I see myself as a creative artist first. Floral design is my way of expressing creativity, emotion, and storytelling through flowers. I specialize in creating bespoke floral designs, particularly for weddings and garden-style celebrations, where I can really bring a couple’s personality and vision into the design.
I’m also a content creator, which has become an important part of my journey. I’ve built a community of more than 18K people across my social media platforms who not only enjoy and engage with my content, but also inspire me to keep learning, creating, and becoming better every day. I love being able to share my floral art, my creative process, and the experiences behind my work with them.
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve been able to combine these two passions—floral design and content creation—to build something that feels authentic to me and has grown into a family business.
What sets me apart is the personal connection I create with my clients and my community. I don’t just want to make something beautiful; I want to understand the story behind the celebration and create something that feels personal and meaningful. Whether I’m designing flowers for a wedding or sharing my work online, I want people to feel the creativity, passion, and love that goes into everything I create.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve always been a creative and hardworking person. I also loved planning and organizing—I was always the one in the group organizing everything! 😂 Looking back, I can see how those qualities naturally led me to floral design, entrepreneurship, and content creation.
