Today we’d like to introduce you to Arthur Pichon.
Hi Arthur, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi my name is Arthur Pichon, and I’m a marketer by trade but over the past two years, I’ve been privileged to run my own vintage clothing business. I began as an avid collector of 90s graphic t-shirts in 2017 and shortly noticed that people would compliment my outfits and ask where I would acquire my pieces. The light bulb went off when I started to see more people shifting towards vintage and when I started to see Youtubers showcasing their finds and starting their own vintage clothing businesses. I took the leap in January 2020 and while I can say I’ve had my fair share of challenges I have learned so much about running a business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s not a great story that exists where struggles and challenges were not evident and mine is no exception. Starting a business in 2020 was not only challenging for me but also to many other small business owners because of COVID-19. I went live in Jan 2020 and shortly after in March we were all hit with the news of COVID-19 and everything shutting down. For me, it really shut down my involvement in pop-ups and venues which limited the face-to-face interaction that I needed to really establish clientele. Where one door closes another one opens and for me that was really heavily relying on all the online channels such as our website, organic social, and paid social. I’m a firm believer that it gave me an advantage because instead of limiting my reach to a local level; I had opened the gate to a national and even international scope.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Back to Life Vintage, we specialize in providing unique vintage clothing from the 80s, 90s, and 00s to the person who is passionate about vintage fashion whether it be someone who is an avid collector or to the casual person who is looking to buy an outfit to stand out for the night. I really think that sets us apart since we’re not just appealing to one specific niche or audience, instead we’re bringing a mass array of vintage and vintage inspired clothing to everyone. If you have a liking or a passion for colorful windbreakers, vintage band tees, cartoon tees, sport tees or jackets, and everything in between we have you covered.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
This is a great question; we are first and foremost always looking to collaborate with great individuals in any way shape or fashion. (No pun intended lol)
We would ask anyone who is interested in collaborating with us to reach out to me directly via email btlvintage@gmail.com or send a DM on Instagram @BTLVintage. We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with @iamjackyramirez (Instagram) on a special upcoming project which I can’t say too much right now but I’m excited to drop this upcoming 4th quarter of 2022, so be on the lookout for that. Make sure to follow us on Instagram @BTLVintage for the latest and greatest vintage drops and special news/updates!
