Today we’d like to introduce you to Asheyla Joseph.
Hi Asheyla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey as a nail technician in the summer of COVID, during a time of uncertainty. I began with a simple Amazon kit, practicing in my garage through the Texas heat, teaching myself and refining my skills day by day. What started as a creative outlet quickly became a purpose.
As I invested in better products and began to truly believe in myself, my love for the nail industry grew—and so did my clientele. Building from the ground up taught me discipline, confidence, and resilience. Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and my journey is a reminder to women that when you believe in yourself and stay consistent, growth will follow.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been easy! There were moments of doubt, slow days or weeks, and times when I questioned if I was good enough. Balancing consistency, growth, and self-belief was one of the biggest challenges.
However, those struggles shaped my work ethic and mindset. Each obstacle pushed me to improve, stay disciplined, and trust the process. The challenges didn’t stop me, they strengthened me and made the journey more meaningful.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a nail technician and creative artist, and I’m most known for the way I care for my clients. For me, it’s never just about a service—my clients aren’t just paying customers, they’re relationships. I take the time to listen, understand their vision, and create a space where they feel comfortable, valued, and heard.
I’m understanding, patient, and also a perfectionist. I put my best into every set and will work through any detail until my client is completely satisfied. What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me and the community I’ve built through genuine connection. That care, combined with my dedication to quality, is what truly sets my work apart.
How do you think about happiness?
My biggest pride and joy is my daughter. She loves that she can get her nails done wherever she wants and even ‘forces’ me to practice nail art on her tiny nails. She also asks to see every set I complete, which inspires me to keep improving and trying new designs. She’s a big reason why I love this work—it keeps me creative, patient, and motivated.
