Meet Ashley Acosta and Ida Howard of Glassy Girls in Prosper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Acosta and Ida Howard.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ashley and Ida. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
How else does an amazing business come to fruition? Great friends plus a little bit of alcohol! Luckily for us we happen to be neighbors so when the creative idea of starting our own company came to surface, our locations couldn’t have worked out better. We both have amazingly supportive husbands and littles that we use as our delivery team 😉, so it’s definitely a family themed business. While both of us have always had our own careers, GlassyGirls has allowed us to have that creative outlet in life. We’ve met so many amazing people and been a part of so many special moments that it’s been the biggest blessing in our lives.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing worthwhile is smooth. While we’ve been extremely blessed in the fact that we work so incredibly well together, life always gives you obstacles. Between growing families, vacations, full time jobs, kid’s activities, TEENAGERS, the list goes on and on…. life will always have obstacles. We have just learned how to work around them. Luckily for us, we have stellar time management skills and can always fit our business around our everyday lives.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Glassy Girls – what should we know?
We specialize in custom glassware but are so much more. Our glasses can range from stemless wine glasses, stemless flutes, whiskey, cocktail, beer mugs, even stainless steel tumblers. We have vinyl as well as etched options available.

We like to make your moment special. If you are looking for a customized gift, we can put together something timeless and thoughtful just for that special person.

We have our glasses wrapped and ready for gift giving, making it a quick and easy for any occasion.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
We have to thank Celina Friday Night Market for asking us to a vendor at one of their events. We had only been in business for two weeks, and had our first vendor event. We honestly didn’t know what to expect, but it was a great opportunity to meet people in the community and make a name for ourselves. They have been supportive of us and our products since day 1, and we always enjoy their market events.

We’d also like to thank Lone Star Mercantile in an Allen TX. They believed in us enough to approach us about a retail space. Thanks to them, GlassyGirls has our very own booth where you can shop 7 days a week!
