Meet Ashley Denson of Paint The Town Red Productions – PTTR Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Denson.

Ashley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
While I was employed as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Ralph Hall for almost six years on Capitol Hill, I have always possessed a secret passion for event planning. I began my career in events by working in the Promotions Department for WPGC 95.5 (CBS Radio – Washington, DC) and 97.9 The Beat (Radio One – Dallas) from 2011-2013. In these roles, I attained the bulk of my event planning experience. Though I was fortunate enough to work for several different entities, I always desired to be able to provide my own clients with flawlessly executed, unforgettable experiences, no matter what city, state or country they are in. Thus, Paint The Town Red Productions was birthed. I officially became an entrepreneur & incorporated PTTR Productions, LLC, a boutique event consulting and production company, in May 2017.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a “smooth” journey to say the least. Being an entrepreneur can be a real struggle because you have to be willing to take risks, at times, and you have to be able to motivate yourself when you don’t have any new clients calling you or new projects lined up.

My biggest battle has been putting the proper value on my services. In the past, I’ve struggled in making my clients pay for the “little extras” because I’ve been so focused on making sure they’re completely satisfied with my services & their planning experience. It took a while for me to see how much those small “little extras” can really add up & make a project a more daunting task. In 2018, I’ve really focused on self-worth & being comfortable with turning down opportunities.

PTTR Productions, LLC, is a boutique event consulting and production company based in Dallas, TX. While we are capable of coordinating intimate gatherings, we also produce larger scale concerts and festivals. From D.C. to Atlanta, Texas, L.A., and beyond, there are no limits!

To date PTTR has partnered with celebrities such as 2Chainz, Rickey Smiley, Keyshia Cole, T.I., Big Tigger and their management teams, to coordinate and execute album release parties, private meet and greets, book signings, as well as more personal events, such as bachelorette parties and birthday dinners.

Additionally, PTTR has served as the Logistics Coordinator/Stage Management for several shows and events, such as Pink Pumps and Paparazzi, LLC’s Annual Charity Fashion Show, COSIGN Magazine’s Inaugural Awards Dinner, The Blueprint Summit, Broccoli City Festival, Big Tigger’s Celebrity Basketball Weekend, and served on Production Teams for Steve Harvey’s Neighborhood Awards, The Black Music Honors, The Stellar Gospel Awards Show and The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference Week.

What sets PTTR Productions apart from other planning entities, is our dedication to meet and exceed client expectations. No client, party or special event, is ever too big or too small!

What were you like growing up?
Although I had a half-brother and sister, I was raised in a household where I was an only child. Needless to say, constantly being around adults matured me pretty quickly. Any of my family would tell you that I was focused on being a good student, being super active in school groups and organizations & most importantly, making my mother proud!
