Meet Ashley Gibson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Gibson.

Hi Ashley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My jewelry-making started off as a child with my Mama. She always cultivated my creativity and was incredibly supportive in anything I was interested in. I began making jewelry as gifts for friends and family, then I moved to Fort Worth and became involved in the local markets.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a business owner (no matter how small) is never easy. I am my own secretary, accountant, and laborer. I make every piece myself so everything is entirely on me. I am by far my harshest critic.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I make all sorts of jewelry, but I love making bridal and bridesmaid jewelry. Custom orders are my favorite!

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories all revolve around being outdoors. Swimming in the lake until the sun went down and the cicadas came out is how I spent my summers. Raking leaves into huge piles for jumping into was the best part of fall. I loved making homemade cards for Christmas and Valentine’s Day. And checking on the baby robins in their handmade birdhouse was the best way to start a spring day.
