Meet Ashley Hemphill of Beauty Kulture, LLC in Central Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Hemphill.

Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am actually a 3rd- generation Beautician! My mother and grandmother were also licensed Cosmetologist, so I come from a family of beauticians! I have always had a passion to make a someone’s day by providing personal care services, I also am happy to know that with my brand, I can assist other people reach their personal and career goals! I absolutely understand that my purpose here in this world is to help empower others via the Beauty Industry, so following the path that God put me on years ago has landed me here (but, I didn’t always know I’d be here)!

I got my personal start in the industry as a teenager and was afforded the opportunity to graduate from high school with my Cosmetology license. From there, I continued on to attain my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree, all while working part-time as a Cosmetologist and a full-time State Certified Classroom Teacher.

I realized early on in my teaching career that I had a knack for teaching and delivering information, as well as having a passion for beauty and fashion. From there, I completed most of my Cosmetology/Aesthetic Instructor Course work to obtain my TDLR Instructor’s License. Doing this not only opened up more doors in providing educational services but also broadened my horizons to all of the possibilities there were regarding my place and roll in the Beauty Industry and Education.

I eventually left teaching general core subjects (ELAR & History) to being able to teach CTE Courses (Cosmetology) to both private beauty school students and public high school students. I can honestly say: Being a State Licensed Core Education Teacher, CTE Teacher, and Master Educator (M.Ed.) has helped me set my brand, Beauty Kulture LLC, apart from others in Beauty Education Systems.

Once I fully understood the in’s and out’s of reaching all learners (adults and adolescents) from developing lessons, assessing student learning, and mastering student engagement. I felt more comfortable with creating my own lane to bring the best teaching practices to the beauty industry and reinforce the integrity of the industry. I saw that I also understood the business of the beauty industry, which is what most graduates do not know or understand while in Beauty School, and this is what makes my brand unique.

With 18+ years of experience in the Beauty Industry and 13+ years of experience in education, I am able to bring unique concepts and a vast array of knowledge as it relates to the Beauty Industry to individuals seeking to strengthen their knowledge or continue their education. I am passionate about help those new and old to the industry work towards becoming the best form of themselves and reaching their own goals within this industry! For these things: I am grateful to be on my chosen journey, and I look forward to continuing to be a positive influence on those who looking to become the best version of themselves (their personal brand) within this industry!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road that leads you down my path is not a particularly easy one, which I’m sure that anything worth being proud of does not come easy!

The journey along this road has had (and actually sometimes still have) plenty of late nights, long days, and dedication! Did I mention SACRIFICE?!?!?

I invested about 10 years of education into this thing!! Both money and time!

I chose to put my personal life on hold as far as starting a family, and running off with my knight in shining armor! I also chose to put work before leisure most of the time because I knew that my journey was about hard work and sacrifice. I knew I had to do what most people wouldn’t do and take a few risks along the way.

As far as learning my craft, there was plenty of continuing education, practice, and time spent perfecting how to perform services as well as learning how to effectively reach and teach others.

In addition to all of those things, when you work in the public service/personal care field, you are expected to be a true public servant/personal care provider despite times where you may not feel like doing so, and being a public servant/personal care provider means that you have to care about others more than yourself, and you essentially put yourself last a lot of the time in efforts of helping others become great or better than what they are!

My brand is Beauty Kulture LLC, and we specialize in advanced Aesthetics Education and Beauty Consulting Services.

We are known for providing consulting & continuing education to licensed individuals in the Beauty Industry that includes: Microblading & Permanent Cosmetics, Plasma Lifts/Fibroblast, Non-Invasive Body Contouring, Skin Care Services, Microdermabrasion, Advanced Teeth Whitening, Nano-Channeling, Yoni Steam Trainings, and much more!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Every time I see one of my past students/trainees having success with their own goals as a result of what I’ve taught them, I have a proud moment, so everyday/week/month provides fond memories and I’m so thankful for that! We have plenty of past students/trainees who are thriving in their own business goals as a result of the knowledge and skills they’ve possessed through education at Beauty Kulture! I’m also elated when we get a chance to assist clients with making their special days like weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. even better when we provide personal care (hair/skin/nail) services to them in preparation for those events/days.
