Hi Ashley , thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
Hey Y’all! I’m Ashley Weller and I live in Allen,Texas just north of Dallas. I’m a Southern girl all the way through! I have lived in Texas all my life and absolutely love everything about it! I am a lifestyle influencer that covers fashion, food, beauty, home decor and travel! My goal is to influence women into living their best life now! I have been influencing people for almost nine years and I have worked with over 260 different companies, from large national corporations to local boutiques. I want to give women a positive outlook on life and let them know that nothing is impossible. I love working with companies and connecting them with my followers!
I have two adult children; Austin is 24 and graduated from Arkansas and has an incredible job in Dallas. I also have a 19 year old daughter at LSU named Abby who is living her best life in Baton Rouge, Go Tigers!
How did you decide to become a lifestyle blogger that focuses on many things, rather than focused on one area such as food or a particular city?
That’s a great question! I thought about my focus for a long time before I jumped in. I thought about what types of things really defined a Southern woman and it was not any one topic or certain niche. A strong Southern woman is made of many different things. I wanted to be able to share all of the aspects that make this woman up, not put her in a corner and talk about her southern food or the particular Texas town she was from. I also wanted to be able to inspire women in many different avenues and share everything that I knew. I have always been a woman that loves to dabble in it all!
Do you feel like this makes you more marketable as an influencer?
Absolutely! I one hundred percent think that it makes me more marketable. It creates a much wider audience and that is why I have followers whose ages range from 18-65! I think that women cannot be boxed into one small area, we need to experience it all! The companies and brands that I have worked with are more interested in the relationship that I have with my followers/friends and the fact that they trust me, more than if my feed only consists of a certain type of product.
Who would you say has been one of your best partners to work with and why?
I would say one of my favorite partnerships that I have had, was a combo partnership with Baylor University and Toyota. It was awesome to work with them because they were already such a big part of my life. I had graduated from Baylor University and I had always driven a Toyota, so the fact that they so smoothly fit into my feed and life was perfect. I loved being able to share a little bit of my past and how awesome they still fit into my life now. I love working with brands that know me and understand my purpose. I also love the fact that they have been a repeat partnership, those are the best kind!
Will you always focus on lifestyle or do you think you will ever take your brand a different way?
I absolutely love being a lifestyle influencer and being able to do it all. The only other direction I would head in, would be to become a travel blogger that travels the world! That would be pretty incredible. I love to travel and just had my first international travel partnership this past summer, when I went to Tulum.
How has it been being a known influencer in Dallas the last eight years?
It’s been great! I love it! I love meeting new people and learning new things every day. I have met so many amazing women in Dallas and our community of influencers/bloggers is very supportive and encouraging. I love when people come up to me and ask me if I am Southernchicstyle. People do not realize I totally geek out over that! It’s a thrill to know that someone likes you and appreciates what you write and share!
If you could work with any two brands, who would it be and why?
Oooh good one! If I could work with any two brands, I would have to say it would be American Airlines and Free People. I would love to work with American Airlines because I love to travel and I think it would be a neat partnership to only travel with them and show people where all they travel, how their service is, what first class is like and fun things like that!
Free People is my favorite clothing brand! I love their entire boho vibe. They have classy clothes that are relaxed enough to wear on the beach but beautiful enough to wear to a fancy dinner. They are so unique! It would be a dream to partner with them!
Alright, so before we go, how can our readers connect with you to learn more and show support?
Yes! I would love to connect with any and all of your readers! You do not have to be southern or live in the South.
Like I say, Southern is a state of mind, not a particular place!
