Meet Ashlyn Hunt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlyn Hunt.

Hi Ashlyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had an interest in nails just from getting my own done. At the time, I really didn’t have time for it but then the pandemic hit. So, I began doing nails as a hobby, only servicing family. However, my family believed I was too talented to limit myself so I extended my services to others. The support was overwhelming and now I am approaching my 2-year anniversary.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m self-taught so I am always challenged to try new techniques, new designs, etc. Also, building my clientele was a hurdle in itself being mostly word of mouth. With the help of loyal clientele and social media, I have expanded tremendously.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a self-taught nail artist, specializing in acrylics. I am most proud of my longevity and work ethic. I work a full-time job, attend school full time and a mother of one. Being able to run a successful business on my own is major.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I don’t think there is anything surprising about me as most of my clientele are friends and family. I have even built relationships with my newer clientele; each appointment is a personalized experience. I simply love what I do.
