Meet Aubrey Grossen of The Mamahood Blog in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aubrey Grossen.

Aubrey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I had a pretty rocky first few months of motherhood and relied heavily on my sisters and mom for help. I worried about my friends who didn’t have family around to help them so I thought by creating a group we could all be “sisters” in a sense and help each other with different things that have worked/not worked in parenting. I started it back in 2014 with about 30-40 close friends and family and it’s grown to over 20,000 members worldwide. My blog goes along with it and we’ve been able to do some fun things with the amount of numbers we have in our group.

Has it been a smooth road?
Like any blog or business, it feels a little bit like a roller coaster. Some weeks and months are awesome and some weeks and months are really hard. Sometimes it feels like I’m growing really quickly and other times it feels like I’m not moving at all. I would say that’s been the hardest part of this whole process.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I own a motherhood platform full of moms in every season! I keep it a positive environment, am always posting deals or working on projects to help moms. What sets me apart from other bloggers is that I love to do projects that help moms. With the large number of members we have, we are able to do a lot! Last year I hosted an event and the proceeds went to moms who had lost infants or pregnancies, and this year I’m currently working on a project to help refugee mothers. That has been the most rewarding part of this whole adventure.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I love where I live, but a lot of my networking is back in Utah where I’m from. I would love to expand and network more in this area because I believe there is a lot of potential and wonderful companies and people out this way as well.

Pricing:

  • The shirts I’m selling to help refugee moms are $19.99 and a portion of all proceeds goes to Refugee Services of Texas located in Fort Worth.
