Meet Audra Snyder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audra Snyder.

Audra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I stumbled into modeling quite randomly; actually, I never thought of becoming a model before I met my first model coach. When I was younger I was bullied quite frequently, and my self-esteem was always extremely poor, I struggled with self-confidence and mental health issues through school and to this day.

After I finished school I felt like I didn’t have a purpose, I wasn’t attending college, didn’t have a job. I felt very out of place and like I was wasting my life. I met Amanda in August of 2017 through my mom’s coworker and decided that doing some of her model coaching sessions would be fun and give me something to do.

The more we worked together, the more she brought me out of my shell and taught me about the modeling industry. I gained a sense of self-worth and, and I can honestly say I fell in love with being in front of the camera.

I love expressing myself through modeling and meeting so many wonderful creatives that are in this industry, I never thought I would be where I am today and that I would want to peruse a career in modeling, but it’s all I want to do.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road by any means, but it’s been worth it in more ways than I can even explain! I’m very critical of myself and extremely self-conscious so it was difficult at first receiving pictures back that I considered to be unflattering or that showed my imperfections, but it’s helped me grow as a person. I’ve come to accept myself for who I am. I’ve gained a new perception of myself; I love who I am.

I’ve gotten the opportunity to play so many roles through modeling and being able to see myself in a different light has been incredible. I really have shown myself just what I’m capable of doing and how far I can continue to go. I’m forever grateful for every person who has guided me in my modeling journey and gotten me to the point of self-love.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am my own business; I’m a model. I mostly do lifestyle and editorial shoots. I’ve been published in a few magazines and one international magazine, and that blows my mind. I’m so proud of myself and of everyone that I’ve worked with that’s gotten me to that point. I feel real, and relatable to other people.

I’m not perfect, I’m not a size zero, I have tattoos and scars but I’m beautiful, and I think a lot of people can look at me and feel a connection and relate to that. I want to see more people like myself in magazines and tv.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I actually come from the outskirts of Dallas in a very small town, and I love it. It’s peaceful and quiet, and I’m only an hour away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I love the creativity of the city, being surrounded by different people and sounds and sights. It inspires me. I hate traffic! Literally my only complaint!
