Today we’d like to introduce you to Avonne Bogan.
Avonne, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In April 2014, Avonne and I opened POLISHED Life. We started with a small space but a big dream. Avonne is a creative artist while I handle the business aspects. Between the two of us, we have managed to create a brand that is recognized worldwide. Avonne’s work can be found on celebrities at any given moment.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it was not a smooth road. Avonne and I are sisters but I live in Washington, DC while Avonne lives in Fort Worth. We have two different working styles but have managed to come together for the good of the brand. We are going on six years and have managed to offer classes, additional stylists and a larger space.
Please tell us about POLISHED Life.
POLISHED Life is a luxury nail salon. POLISHED Life provides luxury manicures, pedicures, acrylics (plain, colored, and pink and whites) along with award-winning nail art. Specializing in all phases of nail care – utilizing the highest quality nail products. What sets us apart from other nail salons is the nail art and quality. Due to the demand, POLISHED Life is by appointment only.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have probably started working with Avonne earlier than 2014. Avonne starting doing nails while in High School. She was the girl in the dorm during under-grad doing nails on the side.
