Today we’d like to introduce you to Aziz Kobty.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We started in 1989 as a family owned and operated restaurant in Arlington, Texas. My dad came to this country from Nazareth. Israel in the 70’s. He originally started working in the painting business. His entire family comes from a long line of painters. After jobs on the weekends, he used to cook for his friends and family. That was his true passion. He loved the idea of bringing people together to share stories and delicious food. His cooking was such a hit, he decided to follow his dreams and opened up the Original Prince Lebanese Grill.
We have been serving the Dallas-Fort Worth community ever since. The Prince prides its self on a few key principals; fresh food, highest quality natural ingredients, and family-style hospitality. Our portions are as big as our Texas spirit. In 2007 Prince moved to an old converted drive-in, changed up the menu and added some of his mom’s secret recipes and the legend was born. The cuisine and hospitality even attracted the likes of Flavor Town Mayor Guy Fieri. who featured Prince’s famous rice recipe on his cooking show, Guy’s Big Bite. Prince was also featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on Food Network and hasn’t looked back since.
Has it been a smooth road?
Every restaurant has it struggles when you first open the doors. When Prince opened, there was a learning curve since our first time in the restaurant industry. We’re thankful to the city of Arlington for being so helpful with Prince getting on its feet. After a slow first-year word finally got out about the quality of our food and family-style hospitality. We have been growing ever since.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Prince Lebanese Grill – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a family owned and operated business, from the cooks in the back to the waitresses in the front. Countless family members have worked on the team from the owners Francis & Amira, the kids Hani, Aziz, Viviane & Elizabeth. A lot of cousins Maddux, Jordan, Caden, Alexi, Megan and of course “Uncle Ahmad”. Most of our staff is either family or a close family friends.
We love our community. Prince is very proud of the relationships we have established in our community. We love to partner on events for our first responders, local churches and youth. This is almost as important as the food we serve. Anyway, we can give back to a community that has given us so much is privilege.
We specialize in Lebanese cuisine. This means Hummus, Babagaoush, Falafel, Gyros, Shawarma and a whole bunch of other great food. We specialize in made from scratch food cooked fresh to order. What sets us apart is our execution and standards. We care about what we do, a lot. Prince’s team is truly passionate about serving the best.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Arlington has been so great to Prince Lebanese Grill. We are truly blessed to be partnered with such an amazing and supportive city. From the Chief of Police, the Mayor, Chamber of Commerce, The Visitors Bureau, City Hall, Hospital, Texas Ranger’s & Dallas Cowboy’s Staff, City Councilmen, and many cities and school district employees. We get the vibe that the city of Arlington is proud to call Prince their own special unique restaurant. #Blessed

Mr. Kobty recently made a generous financial donation to Musical Memory Singers, a non-profit group in Arlington which supports older people living with a neurocognitive disorder such as Alzheimer’s disease. It was unsolicited and unexpected and we are grateful that he recognized that a weekly community chorus where we sing old-timey songs with people who have early to mid-stage dementia/Alzheimer’s, their care partners, and community volunteers would be good for our community. We are grateful (and have always enjoyed the fabulous fresh and interesting dishes served at Prince Lebanese Grill).
