Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Martindale.
Bailey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in strategic communication with an emphasis in public relations. From there, I started an internship in broadcast journalism thinking that I wanted to be a reporter. After realizing how depressing the field was, I refocused to public relations. I ended up moving from Oklahoma to Salt Lake City for a great job with a tech company in Silicon Slopes.
While I was there, I started picking up marketing and advertising clients on the side. When I left the tech company, I accepted a position as the Director of sales and marketing for an outsourcing services company. I was continuing to build up my marketing and advertising clients on the side. It got to the point where it would be more beneficial for me to just continue on with my clients full-time and leave my job. So that is what I did. I jumped in full-time to building my business and I haven’t looked back. About a year and a half ago, I moved from Salt Lake City to Dallas and have been expanding my services and business into Dallas.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship is never smooth. There is always a situation where a client may not come through with payment after you’ve completed work for them. There is the hustle of building your business and acquiring clients. I’ve had to learn better time blocking, better time management, better boundaries and more.
Branded Communication – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I have a communications agency that specializes in branding, digital advertising, and public relations. I have the ability to help a company truly find their brand identity and build a strategy around that to help them reach their ideal clients. My specialty is undoubtedly branding and strategy. Many companies think that branding is just a logo or a website but it is so much more than that.
I also love to help executives with personal/executive branding. Developing their personal brand can give them a great deal of leverage within their fields and others.
I saw a pain point in the small business community and knew I had the skill set to provide a solution. My specialties include brand development and strategy.
– I have built and managed an increasing pipeline of customers.
– I have run numerous successful digital ad campaigns for clients resulting in $1M+ in revenue for small businesses who otherwise had nonexistent or low-performing ad campaigns.
– I have created multiple brands and brand strategies for small businesses and medium-sized businesses.
– I have completely overhauled countless websites to encompass brand direction, SEO and more.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Helping a client find success is extremely rewarding. Each time I have a successful strategy, it makes me proud and provides a reward. For example, one client here in Dallas spent $16,000 total in advertising – my retainer + ad cost in 6 months. That resulted directly in $157,000 revenue. The client was thrilled and it made a huge impact in their business.
