Meet Bailey Williams of Stockyards Championship Rodeo in National Historic District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Williams.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bailey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was working for a company, traveling and helping market and sale customs screen printed shirts. I loved my job at the time but was praying for a job opportunity in rodeo or events where I did not have to travel. My father is a Fort Worth Fire Fighter and I visited his station while in town. One of the guys there recommend a man in the Stockyards who knew a lot of people and might be able to help me answer that prayer. That man was Nate Krieger and at the time he was the Marketing Director for the Cowtown Coliseum. After a couple times meeting with Nate and Hub Baker they offered me brand new position. Marketing Coordinator and In House Graphic Design. Prayed about it and took it! Very thankful!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been smooth so far. I have had the opportunity to meet and build relationships with many great people. But I will always want to continue to try and grow my skills and gain more knowledge. My goal is to be the best I can be for the Cowtown Coliseum and the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Please tell us about Stockyards Championship Rodeo.
The Cowtown Coliseum is located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Cowtown Coliseum offers all the modern amenities, yet retains the feel of a historic site. Doors are open to the public during the week for tours and pictures. Every Friday and Saturday year round, we have the Stockyards Championship Rodeo and then on Saturdays at 2:30 and 4:30 The Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show. The Rodeo is the only year round rodeo in the World! This year marks a 100 Years of Rodeo for the Coliseum. The Coliseum holds two great museums. The Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and also The Bull Riding Hall of Fame. It is an honor to be a part of such a company that holds and honors the history of the Fort Worth Stockyards and The Cowtown Coliseum. I work hard to help market and advertise The Stockyards Championship Rodeo and The Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show. From working with sponsors, creating ads, social media, event planning and whatever else I can do to help. Everyone that works here, is part of this large coliseum family. This Coliseum is very special to many, many people.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I there is anything I would do differently if I could. Jesus, my college degree, family, friends, my previous bosses, and bosses now have done nothing but help me be successful. Any lessons I have learned have helped me get to where I am now. My plan is to continue to keep learning from the people The Lord has placed in my life right now. Always ask questions if you don’t know the answer and if I mess up, learn from it and don’t let it happen again.
