Bambata, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since I was young, I was in love with the fashion and culture especially growing up at the Pan-African Connection Bookstore. All I Can remember is seeing my Dad (Bandele Thyhimba) selling African Clothes to his Customers and saying to myself I want to do the same thing when I grow up. You get inspiration from the most erratic places.
It’s just about being creative. You gotta step outside that box that’s society puts you in, to reach the people in the trenches. You never know who can feel it who it can connect to. It’s about being versatile, giving new styles and being innovative. After all the key to life is to have no fear.
My Brand Young Kings Clothing embodies that idea to be Great and live without limits and to exceed expectations. YK1k Is brand for people all around the world.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a great process I love it, I embrace the struggles. Without struggle, there is no progress. I want that longevity in the race, so if you don’t know how to fail, and you keep trying to chase your dreams, and conquer goals you never thought you could get. And you just want to get there too soon, so you make the wrong moves to try and satisfy what’s not happening.
Every move you make as a businessman is lucrative and strategic it’s similar to a game of chess you play defense the whole game until your opponent makes a miscalculation then you take advantage of their mistake and lead your team to victory.

Young kings clothing is a clothing line as well as a production company that manufactures merchandise for different brands, influencers, and organizations.
And the thing that sets us apart from others is we are not a conventional brand we don’t have drop dates we don’t drop merchandise according to the season we will drop a hoodie in the middle of the summer so I guess you can say we are in our own lane when it comes to fashion.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Every time somebody wears some merchandise honestly seeing people happy in the clothes.
