Bart, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2012, after a close friend nearly died from West Nile Virus, we wanted to develop effective products and services to kill mosquitoes that would be non-toxic to people, pets and fish. We formed Everything Natural to support the development of leading-edge solutions for mosquito control without poisonous chemicals. We began by offering mosquito control services in the Park Cities and Preston Hollow areas in Dallas. Mosquito Mister Natural continues to serve a broad area of Dallas and follows an integrated method that includes automated misting systems, elimination of mosquito sources, and yard fogging all without the use of anything poisonous to people or pets of all kinds.
Our next venture, Mosquito Fog, was the culmination of years of field-testing products to identify what was most effective for our misting systems and services clients. Mosquito Fog aerosol is an amazingly effective pesticide that doesn’t contain anything toxic to people or pets of all kinds. The formula we chose for Mosquito Fog utilizes peppermint oil in a convenient aerosol that can be used anytime, inside or out. What’s next? We’re actively working on what will surely be revolutionary for residential and commercial mosquito control. Later this year we plan to begin field testing automated killing of mosquitoes with lasers. No kidding!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Mosquito Fog started in a spray bottle that we’d use when out by the pool to kill the stray mosquitoes our misting system hadn’t. A spray bottle was an inexpensive way to package our mosquito killer, but Dallas mosquitoes are fast and it was hard to squeeze the trigger fast enough to actually hit the mosquito. One of the biggest hurdles we faced early on was how to get our Mosquito Fog into an aerosol form. With much persistence and luck we finally found a local partner that was able to meet all our requirements and help us get Mosquito Fog in the fun packaging it’s sold in today.
