Meet BC Curry of Impeccable Imagery Photography in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to BC Curry.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a musician turn full-time photographer. Initially, I traveled on the road fresh of high school as the bass player with a local band called The Mighty All-Stars. We were a local band playing in night clubs in the Fort Worth/Dallas area. Eventually started traveling on the road as the Johnnie Taylor Show Band. We played on shows with Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and a host of other artists from Stax Records of Memphis Tennessee; We performed shows with artist (The Chi-Lites, Lou Rawls, etc.) from Capricorn Records and other major records labels in the early 70’s. I’ve always carried a camera of some sort and recorded images as we traveled the country. I have some of those in storage still. Ranging from a Polaroid instance camera, with a popup flash, A Pentex 35mm film, a Brownie Film, my first Minolta digital with a 2x built-in zoom. After working in the aerospace industry as a machinist, a production and a purchasing manager, I finally retired several years ago and decided to pursue photography as a career.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I supposed it been a little of both. Traveling across the country by vehicle from east to west coast was challenging at times. There were times when there was little to no money or food. Club hopping is no joke when you’re a struggling artist/band. Then there were time where events occurred that you would retain and enjoy for a lifetime. Some of the people I’ve been involved with went on to be stars in the industry. Either as a musician, writer, producer, etc. Photography, on the other hand, started out as a fun project, basically shooting everything from plants, family picture, road trips and the like. Shortly before retiring, I decided that was something I would do afterward. It has its own set of challenges, especially when you do it as a business. The amount of time and expenditures getting up to speed has its ups and downs.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Impeccable Imagery Photography – what should we know?
My company is Impeccable Imagery Photography. I shoot Weddings, Special Events, School pictures, Fashion shows and Sports to name a few. I would like to say shooting portraits is what I specialize in, or I like the most. I like studio as well as outdoors on location photography. Creating beautiful images of the people I shoot, is the goal. Developing a look/style that people recognize as me, without a signature or logo would be the ultimate. I have been very fortunate to work with some amazing talent (male and female) and the proudest moments to be published in Brand Magazine, BeauNu Magazine, Gilded and other magazines. What set me apart, is yet to be determined. It’s a work in progress. LOL

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
