Meet Bernadette Fiaschetti of One Life Radio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernadette Fiaschetti.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As the founder and host, for the last eight years of One Life Radio, I have made it my mission to educate my audience on holistic and alternative health. Our motto at One Life Radio is “one body, one mind, one life”, always seeking the truth fearlessly.

I began my career as a business owner by co-creating first Pizza Patron and then Wingstop, building both businesses from the ground up. I was a vegetarian through the development of both concepts, but I never truly understood or was educated about the cruelty in the animal farming industry. My life has always been dedicated to animal well-fare, starting with taking cans of tuna fish from my dad’s grocery store to feed the stray cats, at only seven years old.

I grew up in upstate New York to a large Italian-Irish family. My father owned the neighborhood grocery store and pizzeria, and my mother was a registered nurse who was also passionate about quality food. So much so, that she baked bread daily and tended to our family garden in the summer. My passion for healthy eating, my work ethic, and my love of good food I learned from my parents.

I moved to Dallas from New York to open the first Pizza Patron in my 20’s in 1986. After building Pizza Patron to 6 stores, my first husband and I decided to open the first Wingstop in Garland, TX in 1994.

In 2011, I entered into the homeopathic health and wellness industry by opening Adrift Float Spa in Preston Center. Adrift was the first and only sensory deprivation floatation spa in Dallas. In my first year, I was featured in the New York Times and in Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Because of Adrift float spa, I was asked to talk about sensory deprivation and floatation therapy on a local radio show. An executive for Clear Channel, which is now iHeartMedia, heard the broadcast and said “you’re talented, you should have your own show”, and I said, “you’re crazy, I could never do that”. After four months of him trying to convince me that I could do it, I signed my first contract, and the rest is history.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Hell no, it hasn’t been smooth. Nothing ever is that is worth having.

One of the most difficult parts for me was learning the radio industry from the ground up, I knew zero about the radio industry when I entered into it. One of the most difficult struggles that I had was overcoming my anxiety of simply being myself on the air.

And, also waking up at 4 am for nearly two years to start the morning drive at 6 am while I was trying to raise two children as a single parent.

One Life Radio – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
One Life Radio is a national health and alternative talk radio show broadcasted out of iHeartMedia in Dallas, TX. We broadcast live Monday-Friday from 12-1pm.

We cover topics ranging from nutrition, fitness, psychology, the environment, animal welfare, and much more. I am extremely passionate about pulling the curtain down on any industry or individual that does not have the best interest of all living things on this planet.

One Life Radio is about encouraging everyone to living their best and healthiest life. Health is everything. We have been on the air for eight years now, and we are one of the fastest growing, and longest running health-based talk shows on the radio today.

I am dedicated to educating America with the most intelligent and forward-thinking scientists, doctors, and best-selling authors, uncovering ground-breaking research on psychology, nutrition, and the latest news on holistic and alternative health. One Life Radio is an investigative consumer and children’s advocate exposing the truth, never backing down to Big Pharma, Big Food, Big Agriculture, or Big Chemical.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far has been when my two daughters both individually told me that they are really proud of me and what I am doing.
