Meet Beth Rohani of Ameritex Dallas Movers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Rohani.

Hi Beth , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story really begins with my mom, Melody Khavari, who founded Ameritex Movers in the Dallas–Fort Worth area in 2000. She started with a vision to bring compassion and care into an industry that’s often viewed as purely transactional. Watching her build a company from the ground up inspired me to start my own branch the following year. In 2001, I launched Ameritex Movers Houston, and together, we grew our businesses side by side — two markets, one shared mission.

From the very beginning, we’ve operated with the same core values of accountability, integrity, communication, grit, and innovative thinking. Even though we were miles apart, our operations were always connected by that shared purpose of humans helping humans.

In 2023, after more than two decades of collaboration, my mom retired, and I purchased her company. Today, I’m proud to serve as President and CEO of Ameritex Movers Houston and Dallas. We’ve grown into a multi-branched operation with nearly three acres of office and warehouse space in Houston, and a strong team across both regions. Our current focus is on building systems and leadership to scale the company for the future — not just to grow bigger, but to grow smarter.

At its heart, Ameritex Movers remains a family legacy built on compassion, innovation, and perseverance — one move, one person, and one relationship at a time.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but I don’t think entrepreneurship ever is. The moving industry is challenging on its own, but building a woman-owned business in a traditionally male-dominated field came with its own set of hurdles. In the early years, I had to learn how to balance compassion with strength, to earn respect not just through words, but through consistent action and results.

There were also seasons that tested me personally and professionally. I’ve experienced what I call the “three most stressful life events” — death, divorce, and moving — all in the same day. That chapter of my life completely changed me as a leader and as a person. It taught me to embrace vulnerability, stay grounded in my values, and keep moving forward even when everything feels uncertain.

Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced staffing challenges, leadership growing pains, and the constant push to adapt in an ever-changing market. But every obstacle has strengthened my vision and my belief that business growth and personal growth go hand in hand. The rough roads have built my resilience — and they’ve shaped Ameritex Movers into the company it is today: one driven by heart, grit, and a relentless focus on bringing value to those we impact.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Ameritex Dallas Movers?
Ameritex Movers is more than a moving company — it’s a legacy built on family, perseverance, and the belief that success is measured by the lives we impact along the way. As a first-generation Iranian American, my story begins with my parents, who left Iran in 1984 at the height of the Islamic regime to give me the gift of freedom and opportunity. They rebuilt our lives from scratch, teaching me resilience, integrity, and the value of hard work — lessons that have shaped who I am as a leader and entrepreneur today.

In 2000, my mom, Melody Khavari, made the bold decision to start her own moving company in Dallas–Fort Worth. A year later, I launched Ameritex Movers in Houston while attending the University of Houston and working in media. What started as a small side business to help pay for books and tuition quickly grew into a passion and a purpose. Over time, our two branches flourished side by side, united by the same mission — Humans Helping Humans. When my mom retired in 2023, I purchased her company to continue building upon the legacy she began. Today, I serve as President and CEO of both markets, leading with the same heart and vision that started it all.

What truly sets Ameritex Movers apart is our culture and creativity. We’ve built a people-first company that values communication, accountability, and compassion — principles that have earned us trust in an industry often known for its lack of transparency. Our trademarked “Think Outside the Box” mindset has inspired innovative marketing and creative expressions like Cardboard Creations, where we transform moving boxes into imaginative works of art — from dresses and dragons to cityscapes and space shuttles. These creations, featured in the Children’s Museum Houston, symbolize the ingenuity and passion that fuel our brand.

We’ve been honored as one of the Houston Chronicle’s Best of the Best in Moving Companies and recognized with the 2025 Best of Movers Award through Smart Moving — acknowledgments that reflect more than just operational success; they celebrate the people, purpose, and perseverance behind Ameritex Movers.

At its core, at Ameritex Movers Humans Helping Humans, it’s not just what we do — it’s who we are. Whether moving homes, offices, or entire communities, our mission is to make moving stress-free.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The moving industry is on the verge of a major transformation, and much of it will be driven by technology and artificial intelligence. For decades, moving companies have operated on traditional models — phone calls, paper estimates, and manual coordination. But in the next 5–10 years, I believe we’ll see a dramatic shift toward data-driven, automated, and customer-centric solutions that make moving more efficient and transparent than ever before.

AI is already beginning to reshape how companies communicate, plan, and serve customers. From predictive scheduling and dynamic pricing to digital inventory tracking and route optimization, technology will allow us to anticipate customer needs instead of simply reacting to them. At Ameritex Movers, we’ve embraced this evolution by integrating smart CRM systems, digital quoting, and communication platforms that enhance both accountability and client experience.

Looking ahead, I envision the moving process becoming far more connected and streamlined — from virtual home walk-throughs powered by AI to real-time updates, automated logistics, and data insights that improve performance and customer satisfaction. Even in employee development, AI will play a key role in training, safety, and leadership growth.

However, while technology will transform how we move, it will never replace why we move. Our industry will always be about people — their stories, transitions, and fresh starts. At Ameritex Movers, we believe the future lies in blending innovation with humanity — staying true to our philosophy of Humans Helping Humans while using technology to elevate the customer experience, not replace the human element that defines it.
