Today we’d like to introduce you to Bill and Mary Mayrath.
Bill and Mary, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Before our first son was born we bought our first video camera and deck which were Betamax. Soon VHS became more popular than Beta and we switched to VHS mode. At the same time, we started converting my dad’s home movie reels from the 1950s and 60s to VHS. When the digital age arrived, we converted all our home movies to digital.
In 2010 when I was laid off from the printing industry and my wife had retired from teaching, we found there was a need for a place that could convert the old outdated home movies to digital in order to view or share. There wasn’t anyone (that we could find) in the conversion business when we began.
That’s when our business was born.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think all new businesses have some struggles, but one that operates with computers, software, electronic equipment, and ever changing technology, there are always challenges, but none that have been more than we can handle.
Mayrath Video Solutions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
At Mayrath Video Solutions we offer many types of video, photo, & audio conversions from old technology to a digital format that can be easily preserved, shared, & viewed. We can convert home movies from VHS, VHS-C, mini DV, SDs, micro-SDs, and Sony Hi or digital 8 and recordings on cassettes or albums. In addition we scan photos, slides, negatives of all sizes, and memorabilia. We can also take your media and make a slide show video with text and music.
Many of our most priceless experiences have been documented through movies & photos. At Mayrath Video Solutions we bring these memories to life by converting them to digital making them viewable again and at the same time saving you valuable storage space.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The fact that my wife and I get to work together. She does the still conversions while I do the video conversions. It is also satisfying to know that we bring back memories to customers who can no longer view or share their movies because the technology is no longer available. That’s why our tagline is “We make your home movie memories viewable again.”
