Meet Bobby Calhoun

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bobby Calhoun.

Bobby Calhoun

Bobby, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I first started working in Management, and soon after realized this was not my calling. This led me to working the front desk for a Dermatology office in Ft. Lauderdale. I found it refreshing to help people look and feel their best through aesthetic services and proper home care. Once I moved to Texas, I started selling business to business representing advanced skincare. Working as a sales rep, you’re provided all the tools to grow your own business. Being successful in this industry comes from a place of having integrity.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many struggles along the way in my roles. When the economy does poorly then sales can take a hit. Trying to make clients understand that gentle treatments at home provide superior results compared to harsh processes is often a huge challenge. We all want instant gratification and immediate results. Much like going to the gym it takes work and consistency for glowing skin.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Many of the products that I represent can make a significant change as they work to repair rather than create more problems by being overly aggressive. I’m currently focused on keeping up with industry trends and making those align with proper homecare.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Networking in the Aesthetic space is key to success. I have always enjoyed working with other brands and having a good time with direct competitors. I have learned in this role that being friendly has paid off much more than being overly aggressive. There is so much opportunity in this field that negativity is not needed.
