Bonny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My friend in Houston started a yard greeting business and she is the one who inspired me to do this business in our area. I am an attorney by day and was looking for something I could do with my kids that would provide something fun for us to do together and help them earn money for college. We provide fun, colorful, personalized yard greetings for every occasion. We love to see how happy our clients are when they see their huge, bright and fun greeting card in the yard. There are now 66 Yard Greeting affiliates across Texas and the United States.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
One of the biggest challenges for me was where to store my inventory. I used to keep it my garage but as we grew our inventory, space became a challenge and my husband wanted his garage back. We now lease a large storage unit. We try to get it right every time, but there has been a time where a greeting was placed in the wrong yard. We’ve also been at a place to install a greeting and are missing a letter or number. You learn pretty quickly to check and double check the letters before you leave and the address where the yard greeting is being placed!
Please tell us about Southlake & Denton County Yard Greetings.
We are a yard greeting company that provides personalized, fun and colorful yard greetings in people’s yards for birthdays, weddings, showers, birth announcements, prom, homecomings, open houses and just about any other occasion. We pride ourselves on our customer service with a smile. We are not the only yard greeting company in the area, but we are the original yard greeting company in the DFW metroplex. Our letters are classy looking and we have a wide range of specialty signs and colors to choose from to personalize each greeting.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would have done anything differently if I had to start over. The only thing I would’ve done is to start doing this sooner.
